Everyone who lives near lakes that freeze should know this stuff.
Even if you wouldn't walk out onto ice, you may be able to help someone who did and fell through.

Watch this link's excellent video from a doctor who is an expert on the subject.
Lots of what he revealed was to me very surprising and non-intuitive.

Please learn this stuff, and tell your kids and friends.

Thank you for giving me yet another reason to never move anywhere cold!

 Though we don't enjoy the four beautiful seasons, I also prefer living in a mild climate.

@kenny I have a pond/lake behind my house...A new neighbor’s dog ran out on to the ice and fell in. The fire department came with an inflatable pontoon boat to rescue the poor dog. Fortunately she‘s fine...I saw the commotion from my window but couldn’t make out what was going on. Good thing I found out from a neighbor after the fact. I would have been a puddle..

Oh, and there is a part 2.
What to do if you manage to get yourself out of the fridgid water, but are alone and without help to get you to medical attention ...

Part 3

A girl who was in my class in high school and her boyfriend both drowned as a result of falling through the ice while ice skating at night. She was only 24; he was only 23.
Timely warning, Kenny.
