How to match diamond to certs?

How do we match the GIA/AGS certification to the particular stone? Is there surely an inscription on the stone?

Some have inscriptions, some don''t. If not, you go by inclusion plot, weight, diameter, depth, etc. (by an appraiser)

Measure and compare the 3 major dimensions and the table size. Compare the clarity and the locations of the inclusions with the plotting diagram. Check the fluorescence. Check the weight. Look for outliers or either the stone or the report in terms of girdle thickness, distinctive crown angles, extra facets etc. to be sure they''re present in both.
