I just bought a diamond from ERD with the following specs:

Carat: .90 carat
Color: G
Clarity: SI1
Cut: GIA Excellent
Pol/Sym: VG/EX
Table 55
Depth: 62.1
Crown Angle: 34
Pavilion Angle: 40.8
Fluorescence: none
Measurements: 6.17 - 6.23 x 3.85 mm
girdle: Medium, Faceted

I found a B&M store willing to sell this setting for 2500 and set it for 150:

ERD told me that since the diamond got a full report it doesn''t have laser inscription on the diamond. I''m curious how people go about tracking their diamonds? I''m about to have it appraised and set, and I guess I''m a little paranoid and just wanted to make sure I come back with my diamond. It looks like they have been in business for awhile and they seemed pretty nice... Am I just being to paranoid or do people on pricescope have some way to track their diamond or look at their diamonds afterwards to know its theirs?

If the diamond isn''t laser inscribed, you can still identify it by the inclusions and grading report.

When you bring it to the jeweler, ask to see your diamond under the microscope and become familiar with your diamond''s inclusions. They are like birthmarks in helping to identify your stone. Ask your jeweler to help you identify them under the microscope, and then he can show them to you again when you pick the ring up.
