After 21 years of marriage...how to get an Upgrade??? Fall from a WICKED HIGH ladder....First, I talked my husband into a 15 year old house that needed LOTS of renovation...(He was interested in NEW construction)...My pick was 15 years old, classic, but needed...EVERYTHING...Long story short..While installing a ceiling fan in 16 foot ceilings iin a sun room, I fell...shattering both heels....so bad...bones through the skin, a week in the hospital, 2 surgeries, 11 pins, screws, plates...etc...2 and 1/2 months wheelchair, learning to walk again,(more painful than the break) My surgeon, (a god) informed me what LH50 is...Lethal Height 50 percent of the time...16 feet!!!!! Stay off ladders...learn from me!!!! It would have been $75.00 to have the fan installed....my mediical bills are $75,000.....no joke!!!!

The GOOD news, I take nothing for granted...like walking...AND my husband has agreed to the diamond upgrade...I am working with USACERTED and will get the GIAs tomorrow on two pear diamonds....Pear is a bit different, I know...I am having a pair of .5 trilliions for either side...I will post the info when I get it and maybe you all can help with the decision on the pears....one is 2.35 and the other 2.4

oh my goodness Molly, you poor thing. you definitely deserve and upgrade after what you''ve been though

And I thought the unlucky spot with ladders was supposed to be UNDER them... I''m glad you''re in the 50% who lived!

Oh my gosh what a story!! I cringed when I read your tale...I am such a wuss with pain and can''t even imagine the agony and torment you must have been in for the last few months!! At least there is a silver lining on that black black cloud..aka the upgrade and congrats on walking again and hopefully getting back to ''normal''. We''d love to help with the pear choice..yum!

Oh Molly,

I AM so lucky...Most people also break their back in these type of falls...I didn''t, and I didn''t hit my head either, though I often act like it....

HI:

Hope your new ring will make you feel like kicking up your heels....in the best sense of course....

What an awful time you have had! Thank goodness you are on the mend after all that. You really deserve one fabulous new upgrade. Have fun shopping!

You ARE so very kind...I have learned so much...it is a fine line between stubborn and stupid...I''m not sure which side I fall on...Also, when a man offers to buy a diamond, SEIZE the moment, it may never come again...I''ve always put children, husband, house, poodle ahead of me....this time I''m going for it!!!

Well good for you and look forward to your search for the perfect pear. I looove pears!!!!

I''ve only heard one other story of a person falling and shattering both heels...OUCH. Big time. I hope it takes less than that for me to get another diamond someday....otherwise this is it!!!

A 2.4 ct pear...I''m salivating just thinking about it...can''t wait to see your choices!!

holycrap. I am glad to hear you are ok!

Cannot wait to help you choose!

You poor thing! I am sorry to hear of your accident! Ouch! Post on how what kinda od help ya need!

Actually, My surgeon, (a Denzel Washington look alike, young and compassionate, how rare is that???) says he does this surgery once a month on a tree surgeon, framer or roofer....I must be the first housewife...

I''m sorry to hear about your ladder accident!!!

Where can i find this Denzel lookalike? Mmmm...probably would make it less painful all together!

Have fun choosing your ring! We look forward to seeing the pics!

"Denzel" AKA Mark Jones is a fabulous surgeon here in VA....All the nurses are crazy about him...so am I...He is like the surgeon for the stars...so talented...getting him is like winning the lottery

Congratulations for the recovery ! Congratulations twice for the upcomming rock !

Oh well... thanks for posting the story - it just gives me evidence to show while refusing to tinker with light fixtures in the ridiculously high ceilings here. I've always been so very reluctant to do it, and now I know why

I am so sorry to hear about your accident but am so glad that you are okay. You and your family must be so grateful. My father actually broke his spine in a car accident and survived so I know what it is like to see someone you love in so much pain. He also went from wheelchair, to arm braces, to cane, to nothing but he does have a limp. He is very lucky.
On a lighter note I am SOOO glad you are getting an upgrade. I cannot wait to see the new ring!

Ooouuuuuch!!!!!!!!! That sounds terribly painful. I mean, I love diamonds and all, but I don''t know if I would jump off a ladder to get a bigger one!!!!

(I''m TOTALLY joking

I''m glad to hear you''re on the mend, and that you''ve got gorgeous new sparklies on the way! I am soooo going to drool over your nice big pear...yummmmmmmy! And how cool that your surgeon was a young, compassionate Denzel look-alike! I mean, if you have to have surgery, your surgeon might as well be nice AND nice to look at, right?

I can''t wait to see your upgrade...you deserve it!

Whoa, Molly, I''m glad you are on the mend...what a painful ordeal!

I think you''re going to fit in very well here at Pricescope. I knew it for sure when I read the words, "When a man offers to buy a diamond, SEIZE the moment!"

Oh, my goodness. I am so sorry to hear about your accident, but I am glad to hear that you are recovering well. Diamonds (in my opinion) always help that process.

Good luck in finding your perfect stone.

Sounds like an excruciating injury - I am so sorry. Reading that makes you just cringe!

A diamond upgrade sounds like a great pick-me-up though - just probably not ever enough to counter that kind of fall. Best wishes in your continued recovery - can''t wait to see what you''ve chosen!

Ouch! I am glad you are okay. Hopefully the diamonds will ease some of the pain.

You definitely deserve a lovely pear!

You know, life is so fantastic, I can''t waste any time being down about...horrific scars, pain & stiffness from now on...big deal...get over it! I can walk AND I get a new ring!!! I am still trying to narrow the search for the right pear shape...I thought I had it narrowed down to 2 , but Martin @ USACERT has brought my attention to several others....Recommended I put the dimensions into gemappraisers.com "fancy shape finder"...I can''t get it to run for me and I am SOO frustrated...I am anxious to see what shape these pears actually are...Any advice PS friends? thanks

Damn Molly, I would''ve said ''yes'' to the upgrade even without the fall. I hope your healing well and taking it easy, can''t wait to see your stone/setting selection!
