How to find an appraiser in my area?

Hello out of curiosity I am wondering how one goes about locating someone who can appraise a gemstone, what different types of appraisals are there, and what is the price range for this service? Thanks for your help you knowlegeable people you!

If you go up to the tool bar at the top of the page and look at the resources tab, there is a list of appraisers in each state. Within each appraisers "about me" (once you pick a state) they say what their other areas of expertise are. Just take a look for someone with gemstones listed. They give their prices too

You can also use the American Society of Appraisers website to locate a gemstone appraiser in your area.
