how to Certify a diamond in Toronto

Hey there,
So I''ve found a diamond that I want to get independantly certified. Can I go to an agency in Toronto to get a GIA or AGS certification? Is it that simple?

If so, can anyone advise where these companies are in toronto that i can take the diamond to?

You need to send it to GIA or AGS, which I believe means sending it to the states...they don''t allow anyone to certify their stones, just them. Why do you want it certified? An appraisal from an **indepdent** appraiser can serve much of the same purpose.

GemScan has a (lab) facility in Toronto. Search this board and you may find some threads/feedback from folks who have use independent appraisers in Toronto.
