I remember reading a study about this kind of poll: the most intelligent people rated themselves as average/just above acerage while the average people rated themselves as significantly above average. I suspect a mark of intelligence is recognising how brilliant other people are in comparison oneself.

I completely agree with this statement. However in my case (being average) it is true. I am in awe of how many people there are that are brilliant but then I am shocked at how many (more) are so ignorant. I fall somewhere in the middle. I used to be smarter but my brain cells are deteriorating at an alarmingly rapid rate these days. I cannot hep but link it to my forced inactivity. There has to be a brain/mind and physical/well being link.

There are different kinds of smart. I'm not very people smart. I'm fairly book smart. I have common sense but sometimes my emotions get the better of me so I know I'm about to do something dumb but I don't care.
