How reliable is ERD?

I was looking through some of the posts and ERD seems to present lots of exquisite and fantastic engagement rings. I want to call them and ask for customized ring myself, anybody who went through ERD how were they? How is the customer service? Are they very easy to work with?

I tried to use them, twice, but wasn't happy with the stones I was shown and their manner of selecting and presenting the stones. That being said they seem to get generally positive reviews for customer service. I think they are fine for basic settings but I wouldnt use them for anything highly complex.

I am currently working with ERD and they are such a pleasure to work with. They are creating a vintage inspired setting for me and the process goes very smooth. And, based on the progress pics, it goes very well and the ring will be a beauty.
Based on the reviews and photo's here and the work I see on their Facebook site they really have very talented people working there.
I can already recommend working with them, but you need to clear in what you like and want.

Do you have a particular setting in mind?
I am working with Chris from ERD by the way. He is such a great and patient person and he is always nice and friendly with a true passion for his job.

I haven't had a custom piece made by ERD but when I was having my 3.66 emerald cut brought to GIA ERD was so nice they took the stone out of my ring and actually walked me into GIA. then put their company name on the log for me to get called up faster. They are really nice. My nephew was looking for an engagement ring and they suggested IRD as he didn't need a custom setting . So they seemed very honest and forth coming to me.

You should read the testimonials by people who had their rings or resetting done. I worked with Chris at ERD to have my wife's ER reset into a halo style (see my avatar), and could not be happier with sales support and turn around time and pricing. You can search my thread for what they did for me. I took the cue from Momhappy, check out her thread and experience with ERD. I also had to send my wife's ring back for repair, due to fault of the wife not ERD, and they have done such a beautiful and hassle free job. Best of luck.

I ordered a diamond from them and returned it please keep in mind they have a $250 restocking fee and then you are responsible for the overnight shipping charges.

I just finished a RHR project with ERD. I worked with Mark and he was always quick to respond and was honest and patient. I would definitely recommend them. I bought a roughly one carat cushion and had ERD build me a Tiffany Soleste style halo! It came out beautiful! Mark even drove it out to meet up with me so that I could have it this weekend! I have no experience with their settings, but we contacted ERD for antique cushions and they were very responsive. When they didn't have one within our specs, we even discussed having one re-polished to the dimensions and remove the culet like I wanted. Emails were replied promptly and courteously. For reasons unrelated to ERD's customer service or stone quality, we went with a different vendor, but I wouldn't hesitate to work with them for sourcing stones. Although, I do notice that their published prices on round brilliants are higher...so may be some bargaining might be in order.

Mark sourced my beautiful stone and created my setting. I have since contacted him regarding other projects. He was a pleasure to work with and I wouldn't hesitate recommend him.
