Just a question since reading lesco''s woes and now yours. Do many people run across these issues w/ custom rings?

I''m guessing no, but I am seeing more of these posts pop up.

And this is a Pearlman''s!

It would be very frustrating to get a defective ring and have to go through all this consternation.

In addition to all the shipping back and forth, etc.....

Just curious.
Try doing a search....

I don''t think it is defective but when they set the stone it can be tricky. I am going to have mine fixed today by a different jeweler who will reshape them. I was told by him that the hardest stone to set is a princess and it is even harder for an inexperienced jeweler!Mine isn''t even a custom piece but the prongs still came out uneven and off wonky. I think that since jewelery is set by a human and we aren''t perfect then mistakes happen from time to time. That said it doesn''t mean that people should except them and move on. I think you wait your whole life to find that one person and want the perfect moment and the perfect ring!

Hope that helps!

All that is really noticeable to me is the upper left prong. I think you should have it fixed before you propose. I think it would be terrible to get engaged and then have to send your ring off. So send it back tomorrow so they can get it fixed asap!!!

I think all ringmakers need to hire PS people for their quality control!!!
I agree. What should we get paid??

I''m willing to accept payment in carats.... :)

I swear, ladies and gentlemen of PS, Pearlman''s really IS the best... First thing Julian did this morning was send me an overnight shipping label by email in order to return the e-ring to them... Actually, he said he didn''t even have to read the posts to know work had to be done, just look at the pictures... After apologizing countless times over the phone when I called, he assured me that Pearlman''s would personally deal with Ritani to make the ring perfect in my eyes and scold them for messing up in the first place (ok, I guess I added that part myself :))... In addition, since I let Julian know that I still intended on proposing this weekend, he said that I can pick the date to send it off for the repairs, even as late as mid June when we will be off in Mexico at some friends'' wedding...

Now my soon-to-be fiancee and I will just have to decide the perfect week-or-so long window in which to send it back...

Great to hear!
