how old were you when you gave birth...

I always thought I wanted to be a young mother, but then as I got older I wanted it less and less! We're currently 28 and 33, sans children. Not sure if they're completely not for us, or perhaps in another few years. My parents were 33/35 with me, so those are ages that seem 'normal' to me.

ops I forgot to mention that I gave birth 2x (twice) at 35.

My mom had me at 40 and my sis at 42 and they are still around! :D

I was 30 and DH was 29.

30! And am champing at the bit to have another.

Ha, I'm like you NEL, except mine is only two weeks! My poor husband wads a bit bewildered looking last night when I asked him what he thought about trying for another ASAP. Maybe my feelings will change but every day that goes by I feel like she is already growing so fast and I just love every precious minute right now. I kind of hate having visitors who just hog the baby, I try to take advantage of that time by pumping or doing chores but all I want to be doing is holding her myself! Dh and I "fight" over who gets to hold her sometimes! I would have six more if there was time but then again I would have to deal with a bunch of crazies running around in a few years. Maybe just one more will satisfy me. Never would have thought I would be this nuts about a baby, and definitely never thought I would be anything but a "one and done!". I have surprised myself! Have you always wanted more than one?

Isn't it odd how that happens? We weren't sure if we'd want more than one, but said we'd play it by ear. And if I'm being honest, we were equal parts terrified and excited throughout my pregnancy. Once she arrived, I was immediately smitten. I thought it might wear off, but it's only gotten stronger (she'll be 4 months in a week).

I do think we'll stop at two (though DH keeps telling me to be open-minded about more). The only thing that makes me want to wait a bit is that if I only get to go through all of this one more time, then I don't want to rush into it. I'd rather look forward to it longer since next time will most likely be it. If that makes any sense at all.

When do you think you'll have your second?

I was 17 when my first was born. I didn't have another until I was 32...for good reason!

Now DD is 17 and I honestly don't know how my parents dealt with it. I would faint if she told me she was pregnant!

I had my first at 29, and second at 31. I'm now almost 40, and was contemplating a last hoorah all the way until last year, but could not get my husband on board with another baby. He is enjoying our kids' growing independence too much.

We're currently expecting our first :)) I'll be 34 when I deliver. We definitely want at least 2, maybe 3!!!

Also had my first at 35 almost 36...

When I would attend school events for my DD probably 1st - 5th.. I always felt "old"...

My ex who is 53 now.. just had a second child with his new wife who was 45 at the time of the birth.. I can't imagine me at 49 now.. having a baby.. my almost 14 year old slap wears me out... a baby would drive me to drink before noon! Energy Drinks by the dozens!!!

19 years old. If I would have waited, I don't think I would have had any. I'm sooooooo glad I had her!

Our first baby is due in December and I'll be 30.

Congratulations Dandi, your first baby is a very exiting time.

I had my first at 28 and second at 31 - :wavey:

Awww, thanks so much Monny, you're a doll!! We can't wait! :appl: :appl:

19 with my first, 26 with my second, 28 with my third. We're all done :twirl:

DandiAndi and Dani, yay for being mommas soon!! :appl:

lol DF and Mayk!

28 (almost 29) with the first, 32 with the second.

32 for the first. He was our 10th wedding anniversary present to each other. :appl:

Had the second at 35, because I read that 3 years was the sweet spot for siblings to be friends. It certainly worked out that way for us.

At 38 I looked at DH and said, you wanted 3 kids, and now is the time. He said, no, too busy. So, we only had the two.

30.

I was 21 (3 months shy of my 22nd birthday). Now it seems like sooooo young!
I agree with what Miraclesrule said, if I had waited I might not have had any but I am so gald I did!

I turned 25 in the hospital with my first son, my hubby was 30, our second son I was 36 and he was 42.....

Our first is due in December, assuming all goes well. I'll be 32, DH will be 42. I definitely want three or four kids, but DH only wants two. We shall see . . . I usually win these things.

29 years 7 months and 1 day.

Hubs was 29 years 5 months and 16 days.

1st one was about 6 weeks before I turned 27 and the second one was born about 3 weeks before I turned 30. The third was born and adopted from China when I was 40 (we had started the process a couple of years before that but that is when our baby came!).

I was 27 when i had my first daughter. Her dad (my ex husband) was 38 at the time. Ten years later i got married again and i had my second daughter when i was 38 and her dad was 33. He wants another one and i think that I CAN'T HANDLE ANOTHER ONE ;( i guess time will show whether he will convince me or not :naughty:

I'll be 31 in November, and my first is due in a few weeks.

No way Haven! I'll also be 32 when this little one (God-willing) arrives in October and my DH will be 42! So weird. DH also insists that 2 will be the perfect number, but I'd love to have a third if we are able, or at least I think that now. My mom had her 4th baby shortly after turning 32. How times have changed!

34 (17 days short of 35)

Old!

32 with first and 36 with second.

Apparently I did a lot of living and traveled extensively before I had kids. Wish I could remember doing those things...

33. And it is my lifetime regret that I didn't have more.
