Hey Everyone,

Just curious, how often do you buy/receive diamonds? For yourself, others, any occasion. Whether they''re earrings, rings, pendants, etc. it doesn''t matter. Thanks.

Let''s see -- I received my one and only diamond (and only piece of jewelry) from my ex-husband in 1984. It was small, maybe a 1/4 to 1/3 carat round solitaire. Near the end of our twenty years as a married couple, I asked for a bigger diamond (don''t know why I asked as by this time I was already thinking of leaving due to his volatile anger and contol issues) and he responded that he did his duty in the diamond department and did not feel the need to buy any more diamonds. (Poor guy, he had to buy his new wife a diamond. Actually, he bought several -- according to my daughter they are in a cluster ring from Wal-Mart. Sound lovely, huh?)

But I do so love diamonds, and since I''ve been on my own these last 4 years I have bought a canary RHR, 3 platinum/diamond stack rings for the middle finger of my left hand, diamond studs, a Longines steel/diamond watch, a diamond line bracelet for my right wrist, and a yurman silver and gold toggle bracelet to layer with my watch. I''m done now. I chose all the pieces to compliment each other and look good dressed up or in jeans and no matter what color clothes I have on. I don''t want anything to just sit in my jewelry box waiting for its turn to be worn, so I wear every piece 24-hours a day except when I''m in the hospital for clinicals.

Oh yeah, and I go to nursing school too. By this time next year I will be working as a nurse!

Interesting question!
My first gift of diamonds was, of course, my engagement ring.
The year following, I was presented with a beautiful pair of diamond drop earrings...
Then my wedding ring, which has five little pointers in it...
Last christmas, my gorgeous little girl told Daddy that mummy really wanted a diamond as a present
She helped Daddy pick out a gorgeous little .3 (guessing) solitaire pendant, which is bee-yoo-tiful.

Well, we''ll just ignore my first marriage, because it''s really not worth mentioning.

My wonderful husband gives me diamonds relatively often. I''m spoiled!

1. When we were dating, he gave me a beautiful diamond bracelet that was owned by his grandmother. (This would have been in late 2003.)

2. Next was my e-ring, which he gave me on Christmas Eve, 2004.

3. Then, I got my wedding band on July 21, 2005.

4. For our first Christmas (2005), he gave me a horizontal three-stone necklace.

5. For Christmas, 2006 I got a beautiful tennis bracelet that he picked out all by himself!

6. And the most recent addition are my new princess-cut diamond studs, which should be arriving from WF today! They''re my 30th birthday gift from him.

LOL awww...that''s cute.

I get them a couple times a year, usually, in tiny amounts. Like the studs I am wearing are a 1/4 carat total, I got a quartz necklace wrapped in a line of diamonds, and now I have a new wedding band set. Almost every holiday/birthday I get some, because my husband knows I love jewelry and I wear what he gives me every day. Plus it''s easier than picking out something different

I average between three and six diamond pieces a year. Always for my birthday, wedding anniversary and Christmas for sure. Then there are the occasional trips to Fortunoff, for you know, bed linens and things

...... and I had my first custom piece made this year and I think I''m almost ready to go round again.

Not often at all.

I have bought myself 3 pairs of diamond earrings in .20ctw, then .35ctw (I think), and .66ctw. The first two pairs were inexpensive, the first ones from the mall and the second pair from ebay. The second pair I lost so I bought the 3rd pair. I'm done for awhile! These three pairs were over the span of about eight years.

I have an engagement ring from my DH at around .75ctw that I received 4 years ago.

I had two rings from an ex-bf with very small diamond chips in them that I received about 8 years ago and 7 years ago.

Not my biggest expenses but my favorite things are semi-precious gemstone earrings.
