If you get the chance to pick any diamond you want, what will be the max amount that you will spend on a diamond?

I anticipate that my number will increase exponentially the longer I have access to SMTR

LOL! I think I would spend up to 15k *over time* with upgrading... But anyways, it all depends on people budgets and personal preferences. The answers to this question will be as varied as the people on PS!

I''d spend $2,564,248.35 US dollars on my dream stone.

Well if money was no object and we''re talking about a white/colorless stone then maybe 20,000.

For a colored diamond of size well that''d be more maybe 150,000.

HTH

I don''t think I would spend more than $10k on a ring regardless of the amount I had available, especially if it was one I was going to wear.

If money were no object I would probably still not spend that much because I prefer smaller sized stones. I am hoping my check from Publisher''s clearning house shows up soon so I can buy a new diamond or two.

if money were no object whatsoever? probably around 30k? give or take 20k lol

It would very much depend on the finances at the time.

1-3 months salary of the person fronting the cash.

Depends on my budget. After trading up, probably $15,000.

Unlimited budget, nice retirement planned out and invested, all debt paid off including our cars, great home in excellent condition, furnished as I want, plus lots of savings for 'surprises' that come up, trust funds for family members set up and funded, plenty of funds allocated to charities that mean the world to me... etc?

I'd spend whatever the diamond I fell in love with cost. I'd probably spend up to 200K without blnking on a nice diamond necklace with a large diamond pear drop and 200K on a 4 carat cushion for a 5 stone ring by Leon. 75K on a tennis bracelet. And 50K on studs.

As long as I could afford it.... quite a bit.

Not so much the max amount on diamond, but size, and carat weight will probably determine how much I would spend. I don''t want to go over 3 carat in a round brillant or 4 carat in asscher.... but these are all in my dreams and therefore I''ll just stick to 10k or less for the time being

Why this "rule?"

What if the person has no savings?

Probably around $20,000 after upgrading (which is addicting because my stones keep losing weight!)

If money were no pbject at all? I really don''t think I could ever bring myself to spend more than $30 000ish? I know this is an unpopular opinion with some around here, but I just don''t think I could justify more than that when there are so many other places to use those funds. Plus, I love vintage stones and $30 000 would buy one hell of an antique rock!

Would depend on how much you have, how much you have saved, your personal priorities and how much you like diamonds.

So answers will vary a lot.

I was given $10,000 to spend on jewelry once by my lovely hubby and I spent it on a pair of earrings that I love. I enjoyed this experience very much (and got good advice about my pruchase on Pricescope) and ever since then I have known that I never want to spend anything anywhere near that much on diamonds again. I don''t know why but that satisfied my urge to spend lots and lots of money, and now I look for deals instead. I do love jewelry but now all my fantasies have been met.
