how much tax on cdn diamond?

hi all,
you have all been so very wonderful.
i am buying a diamond in canada to be used in texas. i was told that i am not going to be charged tax in canada but instead in the US. haven''t been able to find out how much that is. any ideas how much it will be or how i can find out?
hope somebody knows as i don''t want to break any laws

I think the story is that you will be responsible to declare that purchase on your taxes for Texas...?
