How much impact does color and/or clarity affect to the viewer and price?

I''m about to purchase a diamond w/the specs above. I''m just concerned for the money that I''m paying ($16,900) it''s better off that I get something that is atleast E color or VVS2 clarity.

How much of an impact do these factors play in a diamond? Is it worth it to purchase a diamond w/atleast E color or atleast a VVS2 clarity or just stick with the diamond that I have? I''m just afraid it''s noticeable since I can tell slightly between an "E" and "F" Also with clarity, I know it''s hard to tell w/o a scope but I think it''s just a peace of mind that this stone is VVS2 vs. VS1. (Not to mention, the VS1 on this diamond is all on the outside edges of the stone, no carbon dots, just one small feather, 2-3 pinpoints all ON THE OUTSIDE edge of the diamond..which I figured I can use the prongs on a setting to atleast cover it up..I couldn''t even tell w/the scope anyways)

I just found another diamond...don't know if I should drop what I have or pay the additional 3k for this diamond?! This is assuming that the diamond stated above is also 0-2 on the sarin machine.

I wouldn't pay $3,000 more for one letter grade up, seeing as E and F are both colorless. Trust me, she probably wouldn't notice the difference. The cut is a different story, though I'm sure they're both beautiful.

These both look like good stones, the question I suppose is should you pay an extra 3k for the E? That depends, you may be very colour sensitive to be able to discern an E from an F, as you have seen these diamonds loose, bear in mind the difference won''t be as apparent when mounted. Which diamond is the VVS2? It says VS1 for both, IMO VS1 is an excellent clarity, just my feelings on this I wouldn''t be tempted to go with a VVS2 - if it is eyeclean that is good enough, I wouldn''t want to pay for what I can''t see but what I can, cut, size, colour etc. You will pay a premium for an E colour too if this is worth is to you then fine, but it may not be something your GF will ever notice. You should form your own opinion based on your own experience.
Go out and look at Es and Fs side by side.

Even though you may not be able to see the difference - with the naked eye - after it is mounted . . . still - if just knowing that it is an E VVS is worth the extra money to you then buy it.

Some people must have no incusions.
Some people like fewer inclusion, and are willing to pay the price.
For others eye-clean without a loupe is good enough.
Others are happy with a big Milk Dud in prongs.
Everybody's right.

Find your own comfort zone.
