How much for this engagement setting and wedding band?

How much is this A Jaffe engagement semi-mount (no center stone) and wedding band set worth? It is white gold.

I really love the setting, and you can see it here from the side better.

This is a used piece (which doesn't bother me) and the seller wants $1400 for he set.

I was able to find an A Jaffe (I seem to gravitate towards their designs for some reason...) platinum setting for $450 (also used), but it is only the e-ring and there are no diamonds on it. Actually, I love the simple setting, but I can't seem to locate a wedding band in platinum that I like with it. (And compared to the white gold, it seems a bargain for a platinum ring...)

What is holding me back is the white gold. I was pretty set on platinum, and his wedding band is platinum.

Any insight and opinions are welcomed.

I really like both settings but I am partial to the WG one b/c of the diamonds in the setting I think it is super pretty and honestly for a setting that has been used it looks AWESOME! But I totally get what you mean about being pushed towards plat I struggled with that issue too for my e-ring and in the end the plat won out.
I guess if you can find the matching band then the more simple setting would be the way to go b/c it seems like you really want plat.
I can''t vote on either for me it really is 50/50...sorry! I like the diamonds on the wg setting but I like that the solitaire setting is plat and the A. Jaffe hidden diamond in the band thing is super, super cute!

I have a hard time with white gold and end up having to replate every couple of months... The set is gorgeous, but I''d be leary of WG due to the issues I have.

it''s a great price for the ring...if you wanted a whitegold a jaffe ring..don''t settle though...a deal is only a deal if you get exactly what you want. please take it from me who has wasted so much money settling only to have to re-buy to get what I should have just saved for and waited to get in the first place.

I think the white-gold set is stunning...but if you have your heart set on plat then I would pass.

If it were me (I dont have a problem with having to replate white gold often), I would take the diamond set.

You could easily get a new AJ diamond wedding band to go with the plain platinum solitaire. I just don''t like the curved wedding band on the wg set.

I love the look of the WG set, but I had assumed all along that I was going with Plat. It''s not so much that I have my heart set on Plat; it''s more that it was just the original plan. My fiance''s wedding band is platinum and already purchased.

I''m big about bang-for-the-buck so I''m all about used jewelry. I know it''s not for everyone, but the fact that jewelry doesn''t do so well on the resale market is great for people like me. Thus, If I go with the platinum setting that I found, I''ll want to find a diamond platinum A Jaffe wedding band...used.

Maybe I should start a new thread with a survey?

I love a good deal and have purchased many used jewelry items too. I just think that if you want platinum just hold out for a used plat. ring/wedding set. I got an amazing deal on a plat. vatch royal crown that was second hand, but you have to be patient, scour ebay, craigs list, pearlmans used jewelry section and other used jewelry sale sites. I see used A jaffe rings from time to time so they are out there.
