How much does it typically cost to set a diamond?

I''ve found that many jewelers don''t want to set princess cut diamonds due to fear of chipping. Is this generally true in the industry. How much is a reasonable cost for setting a stone

yep a lot of them wont set them if you didnt buy it from them.
Price anywhere from $10 to $150 depending on the setting, the diamond and the local market.
$30-$50 is common most places if they assume responsibility if the stone chips it will likely be more.
