I'm trying to average...

Dress + alterations- $250
Shoes- $40
Hair- $0 (paid for)
Makeup- $0 (did my own)
Wedding Present- $200
Shower- $350
Bachelorette Party- $400

So probably about $1000-1,500? Don't get me wrong, being in weddings is a lot of fun, but I really enjoy just being a guest.

My bridesmaids got off cheap!

Dresses: $30 (I STILL love those dresses!!)
Shower Gift: maybe $200 split between the two maids
Hair: $45ish

about $200 per girl

Ummm... I think thats it. No bachelorette party, no hotel needed, just a little money for gas!

???

in the UK, the bride pays for all the BM's outfits, and gives them a thank-you present!

The bridal shower is usually thrown by one of the female relatives of the bride (aunt, cousin etc) or a very close friend.

I paid the following for my MOH:
$30 dress (on sale from $160, thank goodness they had her size!)
$90 shoes
$120 jacket (winter!)
$180 for hair and makeup

She paid:
$X,XXX for travel (I have no idea how much they --MOH and Dude of Honor, who are a couple--spent, flights to Vegas were about $200 each, room was probably about $700 for 4 nights, plus food and entertainment.)

My friend only wants us to pay for our shoes, she is paying for everything else, but we do plan on giving her a great hens night! :Up_to_something:

I'm the first of my close friends to get married so I've never been a bridesmaid. But I think my 3 bridesmaids are going to be taken care of pretty well:

1. Amsale Dress - $0 (I'm paying for it)
2. Shoes - Under $30
3. Hair/Make-Up - $0-$150 (I left it optional - they're all so beautiful anyway!)
4. Nails/Feet - $0 (I'm taking them out the day before to a spa)
5. Bachelorette Party- $??? Hasn't happened
6. Travel - $50 (includes gas - I'm paying for each of their hotel rooms for the wedding night)
7. Bridal Shower - $??? Hasn't happened yet

1st time, around $1,000.
2nd time, about $150.

I love the bride from the 2nd time. She found black dresses at TJMaxx and bought them for us. We wore our own shoes. No hair or makeup. No showers or hen night - just a casual meal out that we paid for (about $30 each). The rest was her present and travel expenses.

I wouldn't be in another wedding that was $1,000 again. It's not worth it at all. Being a guest is a million times more fun and much less expensive!
