Hi all!

Ok, here are the stats and a picture. What do you think this ring is worth....just shoot me an estimate!

Circa 1930s, set with 1.10cts in VVS D baguettes and a 2ct european cut blue sapphire. Band is in platinum....
Anyone anyone?!

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, no professionals will or can give you an answer.

Pro-consumers who are not liable for their opinions should be able to help you with an indication.

What value do you want though?
Resale, gem and scrap, how much to buy one? Insurance indication, family division..........

Hi Gary, thanks for writing. I''d just like it as a ring for myself, nothing special. It''s been quoted to be worth $8000, but right now it''s going for much less. I''m wondering if I''d be ripped off at $2000 or so, as I have no idea what it should be priced!

I am just in love with it though....

Anyone? I have less than an hour to decide....

Just a guess would be good too!

At 2k it fell off the back of a truck and I would be very wary as to what you are getting.

Star,

I’m going to guess that your source of the circa date, the grading on the diamonds as well as details about the sapphire and the metal work is from the same source that said it’s worth $8000 to somebody or other. Why do you believe them?

e.g it is not even circa 1990

Circa 1930?? Nope not buying that....

Hi everyone, thanks for writing!
Well there is no way I'd believe it's worth $8000, things can be insanely marked up....
Yup, know about the dishonesty of people....especially online/ebay.

I just won it for $900, which if the details are correct, is not a bad deal. If I'm wrong let me know. They are a company that sells estate jewelery, and have some pretty awesome feedback, and are a gold star powerseller since 2002. Not that it means anything, but, with that much feedback, chances are it's somewhat fair. Either way, might have it appraised....

What do you guys think about the price I got it for, looking at the details above?

I wasn't going to bid over $1200 for it....

If a company chooses to misrepresent other information you would be nuts not to have it appraised before parting with cash.
The sapphire can be synthetic, it is most unlikely to be platinum etc

When are you having it appraised? I''m anxious to hear what you find out. Very unique ring, neat!

Thanks again for the replies. Gary I''m going to see what I can do, but for some reason, I think I''m pretty safe with the price I paid after some research. Also looked into his feedback in the beginning, and he has a lot of repeat buyers who are obviously collectors, so I''m not too nervous. Maybe he misrepresented or maybe there is something missed, either way I''m happy but for sure going to get it appraised as per your advice!

Jenn5504, I know, it is very unique. It reminds me of my E-Ring:-) I just love the look of it, should be a nice RHR!

Thanks everyone once again, I will keep you all updated on what happens....will reply here too of course!

Not really sure about an answer to your question, but I wanted to add that it really is a lovely ring.

let us know how the appraisal turns out!
