How much do you care about this US Presidential election?

Every PS member can vote in this poll!

Re: How much do you care about this US Presidential election

I voted 2.

With our 3 branches of US government the president's power is pretty much limited, even moreso if (s)he's a nutjob.

Re: How much do you care about this US Presidential election

How much do I care?! A 10! If the wrong person wins this year it could be downright scary.

Re: How much do you care about this US Presidential election

I am at a 10 this year.

Re: How much do you care about this US Presidential election

I care at a level of 10 but my hopefulness for a good candidate is at a 1. Really my hope is more like a zero but trying to stay positive. 8)

Re: How much do you care about this US Presidential election

Depending on who are the two finalist... ;))

Nahhh...Sanders won't make it to the final...

I care quite a lot actually. I think that some of the candidates (like Sanders, Trump, and Clinton), if elected, could cause some pretty serious damage to our country in any number of ways. Like missy, I'm trying to be somewhat hopeful, but it's certainly been difficult.

Re: How much do you care about this US Presidential election

Hi,

I can't believe I answered a 10. I can't believe these candidates on either side. Have we gone mad?

1. I won't vote for a unrealistic socialist, no matter how good it sounds. He's a good senator-let him remain so.
2. Sec. Clinton poses another set of issues. I do believe she is not honest. I don't think the Clintons know what the word means.
It also dawned on me the other nite that she is not likable. But, she may have the experience, but I don't like her.

REP.
Front Runner-Trump the crazy. The man who claims bankruptcy at every business trouble is going to turn the US around?
Ted Cruz-- Wants to turn the clock back to the dark ages.
Rubio--A junior Senator who doesn't vote on bills, and I agree with other assessments of him, in that he is totally scripted. He can't think on his feet. And, back again to the dark ages.
Jeb Bush--Another Bush in the W hite House after the brother put this country in the jeopardy it now finds itself. The arrogance!
Gov. Christie-- I used to think he had possibilities, but he's as brash in his way as Trump.
Kasich-Gov of Ohio-- At the moment he is the least offensive and normal to me.

Just My Musings. Can you honestly believe this line-up?

Annette

We had elections today. Normally I'm on top of this stuff. DS is currently hospitalized for breathing issues, so I've been stuck in the hospital for 24 hours. Usually I would care, but I really don't this time. I'll vote for whichever candidate wins the GOP nomination.

 I actually hope he does ... It'll make a republican win that much easier.

I voted 10. I care very much about the direction our country is heading, and I look forward to seeing someone else occupy the White House who will unite & protect Americans, preserve our constitution and individual rights, support our allies, and not be a constant embarrassment who makes me bang my head against the wall. And it's evident to me how destructive one person can be to a country, so I won't depend on the balance of powers within the 3 branches to keep things in check. :naughty:

I hope your DS is feeling better soon!

Thanks! He finally took a turn for the better. Nothing like being locked up with a 3YO for two days to make you go crazy.

Re: How much do you care about this US Presidential election

I got the kids in bed and came out to the living room only to see that they are announcing Sanders & Trump as the winners in the New Hampshire primary
Guess lots of women in NH will be going to h*ll since Madeleine Albright said, "There is a special place in h*ll for women who don't help each other" in her Clinton support speech. Oh, and I'll be joining them
;)

I was listening to a radio show the other day. The female host was basically saying that she couldn't understand why every woman wouldn't want to vote for Clinton. You know, because we share body parts or something.

Re: How much do you care about this US Presidential election

I'm at 10. I care a great deal about this country and its future welfare. I'm still listening and reading and trying to keep an open mind although I'm not crazy so far about the offerings. I think I will have to try to decide in the next few months the issues that are most important to me in this station of my life and make the best choice that I can make. Our freedom and the right to vote has come at great cost through the years and I take the privilege of voting very seriously!

Re: How much do you care about this US Presidential election

It reminds me of the thread on vote-shaming. It's like shaming women into voting for Clinton simply because she's a woman...
As if women aren't competent enough to choose a candidate, so they should just choose the one with the vagina

Re: How much do you care about this US Presidential election

Not one plug nickel. I'll learn about the candidates, like I do every time this rolls around, and I'll do my duty and vote, like I do every time this rolls around, and I'll be disappointed, like I am every time this rolls around.

According to Prez Obama there is only one branch of government... :read: The executive branch!...

I am concerned but am also aware that it wouldn't make a whit of difference.

I care a great deal, but IMO things are pretty much hopeless.
America is just going how it's going and I don't think a president can do much, if anything, to fix things.

When I vote I take a broader view.
IMO the dems are about helping everyone but the reps are about helping themselves stay rich.
I just hold my nose and vote party.

i care a great deal about the election, but I do not care for any of the potential candidates.

Yup, helping more Americans to depend on welfare and food stamps, w/o job growth more and more Americans will stay in poverty.

Re: How much do you care about this US Presidential election

I think it's funny that Hilary can't figure out why she's losing young women voters.

I asked DD and she's 100% for Sanders.

Because he promised free college for all.

Not because Bernie's camp is "where the boys are" (thank you Gloria Steinam , I would have expected that remark from Trump!).

Young people are caught up with college and paying for it.

Relief of that pressure point is huge.

Re: How much do you care about this US Presidential election

I am at a 10 this time. I am VERY worried about the empty seats that will need to be filled on the SCOTUS most of all.

Bingo! That has far longer-lasting impact than whomever wins the WH in this election.
