I am open to the option of buying a stone and bringing it to Singapore to set.
I was wondering what are jewellers in Singapore charging (in USD or SGD) for settings.

I know that can be vague but perhaps you can estimate a custom jobs for classic designs like a basic tiffany like band prong to a 6 prong with channel band setting with circle or princecess stones.

If you can quote white gold and plat prices, that would be so helpful

Thanks all!

Different jewelers charge different prices for their services but most are happy to provide free estimates before doing any work. Ask the jewelers directly.

Some places, and I’m not sure about Singapore, charge different import tax rates on loose diamonds and mounted jewelry. Unmounted stones are usually cheaper, sometimes by a lot. It can add up to quite a bit and this may be worth considering in deciding whether you want to use a local setter. Check with the customs office for the details or start another thread with ‘Singapore customs rates’ or some such thing in the title so that other members of the community from Singapore who have been through this ahead of you might spot it.

You might want to call up Yuen Tung gems at 62708878 and ask for a quote. I got my e-ring through them and last time they gave me a quote for the ring setting after I gave them the size of the diamond.
