How much can a ring be sized to be bigger? I am talking about a simple white gold wedding band. One size? Two?

I have recently been told by Jamie at BGD up or down one size without it getting out of round.

Would that include 1/2 eternitys? I've always wondered if sizing would make the stones less secure in their prongs?

I just asked Neil this question in regards to a very old antique platinum ring with stones and he said 2 sizes wouldn't be a problem.

I'm in the process of getting my diamond eternity band (in platinum) sized up by 1 whole size for my RH--they're going to see if they can remove some metal from the inner aspect of the ring w/out compromising the structure. If not, then they will have to remake the whole ring again!

A plain gold band can be sized up pretty much ... indefinitely. Assuming you don't mind it thinning out a bit, of course. :saint:

Rings with stones get considerably more complicated: I wouldn't want to size a half-eternity or a ring with an intricate top more than a size or two TOPS, and less than that for a three-quarter eternity.

Thanks everyone!
