which one has the better picture for HDTV?

I don''t

We have 6 main channels: 2, 4, 6, 7, 33, and 39. And then some random Spanish channels and one channel that only plays cartoons/kid shows (qubo I think its called). No cable in our home so I''m not hip with the new shows out there

We have comcast and that is our internet & HDTV cable and we''re paying way too much. . .$150 a month.

$0.00

I don''t own a t.v. or watch it in my home. The very odd times I want to sit and stare at something I watch full episodes of The Office or something funny online.

With cable tv, dvr, and internet.. $96 a month, but it should be going up soon as the internet was a $19.99 special for 6 months

I''m kind of tired of paying that. I think I''ll cut out dvr this summer (~$16 a month) and might go down in our cable package.

We have comcast btw and I HATE THEM!

Nothing but issues and billing problems with them.

We pay around $60 for the dish with a dvr. HD is another $10-15 per month.

We HAD Comcast as well, and will NEVER go back. They sent me to collections after 1 week of not paying a bill that was never sent to my house!

This was AFTER we cancelled service and paid our last bill.

I was so angry; called them, spoke with a supervisor after MANY attempts and he did absolutely NOTHING. Oof, I HATE Comcast.

I don't pay it, DH pays it, but I think it is between $120 and $150. We have Dish Network and have the local channels package and also the HBO and Showtime packages.

I think they do the internet too, but we do not have that package.

We also have two DVRs so we can record on two of the TVs

Yeah they were going to send us to collections for 2 bills (2 months worth) that went through our bank account but never showed up on their end

They said it was our fault- that we didn''t enter the information correctly, but if that were the case, how did it go through our accounts then?? They are SO full of BS

We can''t have dish here (it''s a condo rule) and that doesn''t really leave us with many options, so comcast it is (for now)!

I have comcast and we pay about 95 bucks a month for HD,showtime, and Internet. I like comcast a lot- I love that it doesn''t go out like
regular satellite cable does like dish and there customer service has never given me any problems.

I literally JUST called Comcast this morning.

Our regular bill was $78 for cable alone. Our pomotional period ended and the bill shot up to >$150. I called to tell them I was cancelling my service, which is when they go into "haggling" mode to keep you. In the end, I did end up switching to the bundle because I hate Verizon's router, so the new bill will be around $140 including taxes for cable (+HBO), internet (12 Megs) and phone. They waved the monthly DVR charge of $15 and threw in a few other things. I cancelled my phone and internet through Verizon (which was $88/month).

I was paying about $118.00 a month, but I got a new HDTV last week and had to get an HD cable box to go with it - I''m sure the bill will go up, but I don''t know how much it will be yet.

We pay $42/month for Dish satellite. We don''t use Dish for our local channels. We have an antenna in our attic and we pick up more stations than we would have through Dish.

For example, here in the Philly area, I get New York, Philadelphia, and New Jersey (Trenton area) , and Delaware stations with our attic antenna. If we got our local through Dish, it would only be Philly stations.

$165/month for landline phone, internet and DirecTV thru Qwest. It sucks. When we first signed up for it a couple years ago it was $104/month. Qwest just sucks anyway-I took notes when I was setting it up over the phone and then they didn''t charge what they said, and lied about it. Supposed to get free..modem or something, I can''t recall, but I had cancelled it b/c they charged me for the modem, and they said they would refund it, and never did. When I called later b/c I couldn''t get a better deal, they AGAIN said free modem, and I said I''d been charged for the other and never refunded. She said it would be refunded when it "went thru their refund department". Lie. Got a free modem the 2nd time, but technically paid for it b/c I never was refunded for the 2nd one. And, I was told I never heard the words "free install" even tho I asked about 5 times if it was free and was told yes each time. So, my free stuff ended up costing $265 or so to set up, and since we''re automatic w/drawl, they did it immediately, so we were in a bit of a pickle. They say "this amount will be deducted on or about X date." Except they actually take it out the day they send the email-about 3 weeks before the actual due date. They''re rude and accuse you of lying every time I call. They record all calls, but don''t have anything recorded from my call when I was told I was to have free install etc.

Wow. Rant. Sorry. We''re limited here b/c it''s such a small area, and that bites.

We have Comcast. For internet and cable (basic stuff plus the HD channels; no HBO or anything) we pay $140. It's ridiculous. I'd love to get rid of half of the channels, but we have such a nice tv that I can't see getting rid of the HD channels (they're all we watch anyway). I wish they had an HD-only package.

we''re at $140
14.gif
we had a 6 month promo for $75 which included all the HD channels and the DVR but that expired. I''ve been shopping around though and you can get a 12 month dish package for $24.99 leaving us to still have to pay comcast for internet which is $60 but that would be less than what we are paying comcast now.

I don''t have cable. Never really wanted to pay for it. And since the local stations switched over to HD we have to use a less than efficient converter box. So I watch very little TV. Mostly I use my laptop for news and weather, watching movies etc.
I am never bored and don''t miss it.

Of course we will be watching the Super Bowl :-)

For cable TV alone, $111.- , with internet service, $156.-

I''ve had almost every service, and Verizon FIOS is the best hands down. We have never had problems with our service, and our bundle deal is reasonable. For HDTV cable, internet & phone we pay around $175 per month.

I''m not sure what we pay, but it''s probably way too much. My husband and I HATE having to pay for channels we don''t need or watch, but unless we get rid of cable all together, we''ll continue to do so. I''d love to just pay per channel and make our own package.

WOW!!

what you guys are paying is too rich for my blood.

We have comcast and for cable, internet and phone (including HBO), we pay $99 a month.

ETA: And DVR.

I think cable is better. I am not sure the picture varies, but it does certainly seem to me that our cable is out much less than our neighbor''s satellite is out.

We pay $135 for a landline, cable, internet, 2 DVR, HD channels, HBO, and Showtime package. It is certainly something we should cut back on but we justify it by having date nights at home to watch some of our shows (which is basically everything on HBO and Showtime) or sports.

We pay $69 a month for cable, dvr, HDTV and internet every month.
We are happy with cable. We had satellite and did not like it.

I''ll pay to watch tv round about the time hell freezes over. Whatever comes free through the airwaves is fine by me. I can live for a long time without the rest of it.

(Not entirely free, I think we pay around £80 a year for a tv lisence but I personally wouldn''t bother with tv at all. DH watches it occasionally but it irritates me.)

We pay Time Warner Cable around $106 per month for cable internet and tv. This includes a DVR and most HD channels, but we don't have any premium channels like HBO or Showtime.

I had satellite (DirectTV) several years ago, but this was before I had an HDTV, so I can't say how nice their HD channels look. Most of the time satellite was fine, but around 3-4 times per year I would lose reception for a few hours at a time (surprisingly it didn't seem to coincide with snow or stormy weather though). If I still lived in a Comcast area, I'd definitely choose satellite over cable. Comcast's customer service is terrible.

Correction. I said we didn''t have cable. I should have said we don''t have cable TV.
We have cable internet only.
Not phone, not TV just internet.
Completely unbundled service from Earthlink thorough Time Warner Csble.
Unusual but possible

We also pay $0.00 a month... We get ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, MY45 (I''m not sure of their affiliation), Create, THIS, and about 3 spanish channels including MTVtres.

We do pay around $18/month for Blockbuster''s netflix.

I hsn''t thought of it that way but I guess Netflix takes some of the place of cable.
We have Netflix $13.99 a month plan for two DVDs at a time unlimited and unlimited
instant movies on the PC.
I like it because they have unusual films I don''t see any place else.

How did you get this deal from Comcast? I''m so jealous! Is it the first year reduced price deal?
