Just curious......

I think I am way off the norm on PS, but I didn''t get an upgrade until my 25 wedding anniversary. Seems like many here get an upgrade much sooner though...

In my case it was the same as Cind11, twenty-five whole years! However, I''m now making up for lost time and if I had been able to choose, I probably would''ve upgraded on my first anniversary, lol.

Thirteen years for me!

Ten and then fifteen...

Seems I am in good company. 24 years

And I can say without a doubt, I appreciate this ring much more for the wait.

Twenty-five years for me as well.

I did get an anniversary band (channel set half eternity style) for my 15th wedding anniversary. But the big diamond had to wait until we had the $$$.

upgraded setting at year 5...in middle of upgrading whole ring now at 7 at the rate we''re going it probably won''t be done until year 10

Upgraded the setting at 5 years. New ring and stone at 10. The original deal was every 5 years I can do what I want to with the wedding set. I''ll probably be upgrading before the 15 year, though.

Not technically an upgrade, since I never had a diamond, but have just bought my first at 10 years. Glad we waited until we could afford something awesome :)

HI:

Twenty years. And as my best friend says, "it was the ring to get you to stay another 20". When you are right, you're right!

WOW! In reading some of these posts, I was under the impression that people do it every 2 years or so. Maybe I''m just reading the wrong posts huh?! I just recently got engaged so I really don''t have any business asking this question.

I think the responses here support the theory that if you upgrade your diamond too soon, you might be looking to upgrade the husband as well

. Of course, marriages break-up for other reasons besides wanting bigger bling.

Kind of like...if you want more pay, you have to get a new job.

Upgraded at eight years. (just last month)

30 years!!! We were busy buying houses and raising kids in those early years. I had never in my life known a single person who got a new e-ring (with the original husband!) until I found PS!

Upgraded entire wedding set at 12 years. Was supposed happen at 10 years, but upgraded to a shiny new sportscar, instead

I have upgraded my setting a few times, the first time was about 5 years (the original setting was damaged). For our tenth this past May, I got a 3 stone ring, but that is in addition to my original e-ring stone, which I still have and wear.

Okay, I''m a little different. I upgraded my diamond before we were married from a .7 to a 1.0 carat. Two years later, my setting broke and I bought a new one. Five years after that, I upgraded to a 1.3. got a new setting with that. Five years later (present day) I upgraded to an ideal cut 1.57. I''m hoping in two years for the 2 carat. When I''m forty, hopefully a 3 carat. I get DSS really bad. There''s so many settings, and I''m so fickle!! At least I don''t keep trading out my husband.

Haha! That''s what I keep telling my husband...it''s a lot cheaper for him to buy me new rings than it would be to start over with a new wife!

twenty years! Kids, house, etc etc...

20 years for me. I just got my new ring a couple weeks ago. Our 20th isn''t until November, but we decided to do it a little early and avoid the Christmas rush and any holiday price increases!

I also had my original e-ring and wedding bands reset many years ago, but that wasn''t an upgrade.

16 years.

5 years

ETA: Oh hang on - you're talking about diamonds. Thought you were talking about your partner.

Boy I'm terrible...

Not really, it was a mutual upgrade.

28 years -- It was all my idea--DH would''ve never thought of it.

Upgraded at year eleven of marriage.

Upgraded the upgrade. So 10 years was upgrade numero uno, and ugraded that at 15 years. It was a total surprise.
