how many vendors to compare?

I''ve decided to buy from one of the PS vendors, but don''t want to drive them (or me) crazy by talking with too many.
My thought is pick 2 or 3, give them the same basic parameters and see what options they come up with.

Is this a good strategy or should I focus on one at a time until I find "the ring?"

Am I missing any necesarry info for my basic parameters to help them find options?
~ $7,500 budget
~ 1.5+ ca round
SI or better eye clean or inclusions that can be hidden
excellent cut
best color possible considering budget
Basic white gold ring with a unique under carraige

I would probably select no more than 2 initially Kolchak and see what they can come up with for you.

Another approach is to use PS diamond search feature.

At the top of this screen click on PRICES.
Then click on Search by Cut.

Enter your specs and you'll get a listing of diamonds from PS vendors.
Adjust to specs to zero in on what is in your budget.

thanks for quick replies - I''ve used the price search feature however just not confident about my opinion of the exact specs. It''s a great tool to pick the vendors however.

Would it be in bad taste or against forum rules to openly compare exactly what the different venders offer?

Really want to get stone & setting from same place - was looking at james allen but couldn''t find any setting she liked. Any suggestions on who carries more basic white gold bands/rings with unique/designed under carriages? She like the "ratani setting" and some of the tacori that have pave or little stones on the undercarraige rather then on sides of the bands. Hopefully I explained that correctly.

What is the Ratani setting you keep refering to? Is that different from the Ritani?

A good place to start, no doubt as it will provide insight into what costs what... but working with a few vendors might expand the options and provide a more hands-on approach given the budget, desired outcome, size, preference for eye clean, etc.
