How many times have you worn your wedding dress?

I wore it once- at the wedding- for all of about four hours.

I'm not even sure where mine is! Probably in our attic. I didn't get it cleaned either.

I'm definitely very unattached to my dress. It was very nice, but not what I would have bought if I'd gone after the "dream" dress. The thing is, I'm really not into weddings and couldn't see paying a ton for a dress I'd wear for only a few hours. I found it on clearance on J Crew for $75. It didn't even require altering! I'm such a cheapskate that I bought it even though I didn't love love love it. I cared more about a good deal than the ultimate perfect dress.

Rented mine because I know I'll never wear it again. Just don't see when the occasion will pop up.

I've worn mine twice. Once for our civil ceremony and then a year later when we were married in the Catholic church I had the train cut off and wore it again. I loooooved my dress! I did leave it in NY at my MIL's though (where both weddings took place) and doubt I'll use/see it again. I'd probably donate it at this point or toss it. Like a PP said, I have plenty of pictures in the dress so I don't feel the need to hang onto it. ::)

I wore it once. By mistake. >;-D

I spent hours and hours hand-beading the lace with ivory-colored pearls, and making satin roses and rosebuds, and then a couple hours sewing that whole dress together.

And then I wore it once. Lots of people said, after the fact, that they thought my marrying that guy was a bad idea. Thanks, friends! LOL

If I ever get that thing back from the commercial storage abyss that the movers dumped my stuff into, I will probably dismantle it and sell off that gorgeous lace. Either that, or I'll have it mounted in a shadowbox and hung on my wall as art. LOL

I wore it 3x, once at the initial try one, once for a fitting and then for the ceremony. I didn't keep the dress. Left it in the hotel room in Rome for the housekeeper who said she could use it.

That is an awesome story!

I trashed mine and it's currently in a bag on the floor of my closet. Nice way to treat a dress but couldn't figure out where I would wear a white gown again. Trashing it was soooooooooo much fun!

My fi and I were married in 1977. We divorced in 1979. My dress was stored in my parent's attic. When they moved we were cleaning out the attic and I just could not throw it away. I had been remarried for many years and took it with the thought that my grandaughters might have fun dressing up in it. The dress and veil hung in a closet but I didn't offer it as a play dress. My husband died in 2007 and 3 1/2 years later I called my first husband. We hadn't spoken in over 30 years. I did a search and found his address and number. For the last 15 years he had been living in the next town over from my childhood home. It was funny because when you do the search, people connected to you are listed. My name, when we were married, was there but also my name now that I've had for over 20 yrs was there too. Within 3 months I had rented out my house and moved back to Ca to be with him. We will marry soon after I turn 60, 3 more years. I have to wait because I would lose out on my late husband's social security if I marry before then. It's too much money to throw away. If we could only win the lottery!
Well, we talked on the phone everyday for almost a month before he flew to Az to see me. I got out the dress one night after we hung up. I was able to somewhat get it over my head but it got stuck. Panic set in. I was 40lbs heavier than the last time we saw each other. I was a tiny little thing back then. I'll never be able to wear that dress again. I guess there was a reason I just couldn't throw it in the dumpster that day. But the veil still fits!

That's awesome. I'm a firm believer that you should always follow your gut. You are usually right. Congrats on finding each other again.

I wore it 3 or 4 times after the wedding, I think. I was a hair model for my SIL at a few hair shows/events. A couple featured bridal hair. The rest of the shows I usually ended up with some multicolored asymmetrical mess... I mean art.

I'm so envious that this woman had the opportunit to wear her gown a lot after she got married. I've been meaning to get mind cleaned and sell it as I know in my heart there's no reason to have a keepsake in my apartment that could fetch $900 or so.

To answer the question, I think I've put it on 5-6 times around the house since we got married.

Zero. In fact, I haven't even seen it since the wedding. It's still in the bag and I never got it cleaned. Oops.

Ditto, never even cleaned mine either.

Thritto. I had planned to wear it again for a first anniversary shoot (included in our wedding photography package), but I don't need to take it out of the bag to know that it wouldn't fit. ;(
