How many times do you wear jeans before you wash them?

I wear them until they HAVE to be washed. I refuse to dry my jeans and it can take a couple days for them to fully air dry, especially in winter. I''ve always been willing to re-wear items that aren''t dirty, even if I''ve worn them for a while. I hate doing laundry. Well, really I hate FOLDING laundry.

Big dittos to Laila and April -- I think jeans are horrible from the dryer, and they wear out so fast. Plus, I only like washing jeans with other jeans, so they don''t rough up my knits and other more delicate items. I usually wait until I have a few pairs of jeans that need washing before doing a load and hanging to dry -- which is also part of the reason they only get washed every few weeks! If they''re really dirty during that time, I don''t wear them and they just stay in the laundry basket until it''s time for a jeans load.

Ha, I wear mine um...forever before I wash them! Today I'm wearing a pair of jeans that I've owned for about a year and I've never washed them. They're solid black so they don't look dirty and I HATE faded black jeans. I'll probably never wash these, actually. And I don't ever wash my blue jeans, either. All of my jeans are super dark washes and I hate it when they fade. I don't wash my tops much either-only if they actually get dirty. As a result my clothes always look new! I've had tops and jeans for years and years that still look nice.

I used to buy for a boutique that carried a ton of premium denim and we recommended washing your jeans as little as possible. And if you do have to wash them, wash them inside out in cold water with a tiny bit of soap and never put them in the dryer. Heat from hot water and the dryer breaks down the fibers and makes the fabric fade and fall apart quickly.

Hahahahaha, that''s awesome. I usually just wait until i have a load of them too! In fact, I need to get my sweat pant covered bum off this chair and start doing some laundry.

Unless I spill something or the jeans smell bad or are stretch out, I wash them probably every 3 - 4 wearings.

Same here. About 3-4 times for jeans.

Bras - I have 3 I like and wear. I rotate them, and wash them about every 1-2 weeks. So I guess that''s 2-3 wearings before washing.

Most items of clothing, except regular t-shirts, I wear until they are dirty. I can''t imagine hand-washing or dry-cleaning all my jumpers after 1 day of wearing them. Too time-consuming or expensive!

Mine get washed every time. Expensive ones never go into the dryer and Old favorites that fit well get re-dyed.

My jeans are also seperated from knits & t-shirts. I also do that with my kids'' jeans & shirts too.

For air drying I set up a drying rack over one of my forced air vents in my laundry room. The jeans dry more quickly that way.

Wow I''m surprised at how many people wash them after only 1 wear! I''m ashamed to say how often I wash mine after reading the above posts!

Probably every 3 weeks? Not daily wear though of course, and I don''t really leave the house a whole lot these days since I don''t have a job... and most days I say in sweatpants...

If they smell like smoke, restaurant, or get way too stretched out though, then I wash.

+1 on the every 3 weeks.. I have a lot of jeans, but I don''t really get the point of washing such a durable material so often. Now shirts, I get pretty sweaty in just naturally and I actually have tons of shirts so I wear them once.

Jeans get probably 3 wears before washing...I have 4 pairs that I wear in rotation with a few other pairs of pants...so I end up doing laundry every 2.5 weeks or so.

Bras get washed much less b/c I only have 4 that fit well enough to be considered wearable. If I could just toss them in the wash, they''d get it more often...but because I can''t, well, they get hand washed probably every 3-4 weeks...though I''ve been known to just wash the band more frequently.

Shirts only once...except layers that were outside other layers having armpit coverage (ie: sweater vests).

Depends on the fit or if I''ve spilled something. If they''ve loosened up because I was wearing them all day and walking around, etc, then they''ll probably just be worn once before washing. But a lot of times, I''m really only wearing my jeans for part of the day (I''m a little obsessed with loungewear, so if I''m at home, I''m wearing comfy pants), so they get re-worn 2, 3, sometimes even a week''s worth before I wash ''em.

Jeans - 3-4 wears, especially if they''re the dark, expensive kind (so they last longer). Exception - if they smell like food, smoke, or if I sweated in them for whatever reason - then just 1 wear.

Tops (of any kind, including pajamas) - 1 wear. Exception - the comfy long-sleeve shirts I put on at the house sometimes if it''s cold, and long sleeve button-down shirts - then 2-3 wears (but they''re usually over other shirts, and not right on the skin).
Ditto this about jeans. I don''t like to wash expensive jeans too often for fear of fading. My sister actually drycleans her expensive jeans.
