Subject line says it all. Just curious.

Exactly once, for one day.

I cannot stand removing and rewearing clothing of any sort - PJs are wasted on me.

Same here. My friend who stayed overnight with me recently on a visit from out of town made a comment that during the 3 days she was at my house I wore 3 different pairs of jeans. She wore the same pair all 3 days. I thought that was odd. She thought me wearing jeans once was odd.

Curious what others do.

Honestly? I wash my clothes when I need to wash my clothes. I live in an apartment with coin operated machines, I cannot be so picky with my jeans to only use them once and then not wear them again. I also only have 2 pairs of jeans, so doing a tiny load of laundry every two days is not appealing.

*edited: It did say that I can't be picky with anything I wear, but that's not true I am picky with some things...of course.

If I''ve worn them all day, I''ll wash them after about two days.

I never re-wear tops (I don''t know, something about proximity to armpit grosses me out), but I''m a bit more lenient with skirts/trousers.

Asscherisme, hope you don''t mind, but can I tag on another question about if people wash bras after each wear?

I''ll wear jeans 2 or 3 times before washing...and as a new mommy I''m ashamed to admit that I''ve even reworn jeans that have been spit up on!

I ... don''t think I''ve ever counted. I wash them when they''re dirty, basically: if I''ve spilled something on them, if they''re acquiring that weird grey sheen that dirty denim gets. But, like LilyKat said (and, btw, the phrase "proximity to armpit" is *cracking me up*), jeans and skirts get more leniency than tops ... so we could easily go with the jeans going a month or two between washes (not a month of continuous wear - that, I think, would be too much).

LK, I think there was just a whole thread on bras over in FH&H!

It kind of depends where I've worn them. If I'm just wearing them around the house, to the grocery store, etc, I'll wear them 3-4 times before washing, if not more. If I wear them out to a party, bar, or restaurant, I find they usually smell afterwards (especially in restaurants ... they always smell like fried food!) so I'll usually wash them.

I always wash tops that are next to my skin, but I'll wear a sweater or long sleeved shirt over a tshirt, just around the house, for a week before washing. I haven't been sweating and haven't left the house, so I don't mind that.

And as for bras, I only have 2 that I really like to wear

So I would like to wear them 1-2 days between washes, but I'd be doing laundry every other day. I think I need to get some more bras!

It depends on what I'm doing in them. Running light errands/hanging out, two or three "wears" (all day wear). Cleaning or a lot of outdoor activity? Just once.

ETA: Ditto Elrohwen.

ETA2: Bras, just once or twice.

I wash them every time. I will not re-wear anything except my nightgown. That I wear for 2-3 days depending on whether or not I got hot while sleeping or something like that.

Probably twice or maybe even 3 times. (I'm a very clean and tidy person, trust me!)

My husband is anal about that stuff, and wear everything just one time, even if he had it on for an hour. To me that is such a waste, as he's always doing laundry.

I''m more the opposite - I''m not a sweaty person and I can handle wearing a shirt more than once (especially if it is one that would do better being washed as little as possible), but pants - if I''ve been sitting in public places at all they gross me out - I hardly want to sit on my own couch let alone wear them again.

Pretty much the same here, but a little more often than once a month -- probably every 2-3 weeks (not of everyday wear, though). After a few wearings, they start to get stretched out and not fit very well, so that's usually my cue to wash them. Tops get washed after every wear (unless they're sweaters and I was wearing a tee shirt underneath).

I guess I''m dirty. Unless I spill something or the jeans smell bad or are stretch out, I wash them probably every 3 - 4 wearings.

Only once for me too.

I guess the other thing here is how often you wear them - I don''t tend to wear jeans more than once a week, if that. So .... 3-4 wears, maybe more? For the tops, ditto to Octavia!

Jeans - 3-4 wears, especially if they''re the dark, expensive kind (so they last longer). Exception - if they smell like food, smoke, or if I sweated in them for whatever reason - then just 1 wear.

Tops (of any kind, including pajamas) - 1 wear. Exception - the comfy long-sleeve shirts I put on at the house sometimes if it''s cold, and long sleeve button-down shirts - then 2-3 wears (but they''re usually over other shirts, and not right on the skin).

depends on where i went with them on and how long i had them on. IMO, jeans tend to take like 1-2 wears before they even feel really good and comfy again (my husband always dries them so mine shrink just a little each time). but if i had them on all day and i went to sf and sat on public transport and in like 2 restaurants, i will def peel them off the minute i get home and wash them. but if i just wore them to the office for a 1/2 day i would prob wear them again that night and maybe one more 1/2 day.

but when they get that weird TOO soft feeling, that is when you know they need to be washed ASAP.

i miss my jeans!

Pre-pg, I would wear them once because I had enough pairs that I didn''t have to re-use them. Now that I''m pregnant, I have exactly two pairs of jeans that fit (maternity), so I wear them a couple times before washing.

DH wears his several times. I only wear mine once, maybe twice, unless the jeans are unusually tight for some reason. (DH's practice has led to a conundrum as I figure that if DH is going to rewear them, he should put them back in his drawer, but he wants a reminder that they are still dirty, i.e. leaving them on the floor. I have tried to suggest the compromise of leaving them on his closet floor, but then he forgets they're there. Sigh.) A month postpartum I was just barely fitting into my sister's jeans, and I found they fit a lot better once they'd been relaxed, so I wasn't anxious to wash them and try to squeeze myself back into them unless they seemed dirty. But now my sister's jeans are getting loose (but the next size down is still a struggle to get on), so I'm definitely going to wash them the normal amount.

My sister lent me a pair of maternity jeans that were awesome but really one size too big, so I had to wash them every single time or else they'd be way too loose. So I guess the question really comes down to how people buy their jeans . . . loose or tight? Or maybe the jeans were loose when bought but became tight, or vice versa, because of weight gain or loss?

I''d say 1x a week. But I work so jeans only get worn 1-2x per week anyway, so maybe after being worn 2-3 times. Jeans need to be worn at least once to feel comfy after the dryer! I agree that if I wore them out to a bar or on the subway I''d probably wash them before rewearing.

Wow I''m surprised at how many people wash them after only 1 wear! I''m ashamed to say how often I wash mine after reading the above posts!

Probably every 3 weeks? Not daily wear though of course, and I don''t really leave the house a whole lot these days since I don''t have a job... and most days I say in sweatpants...

If they smell like smoke, restaurant, or get way too stretched out though, then I wash.

Almost all of my jeans are designer so I''ll wear them 2-3X before washing because I don''t want them to fade. Of course, if something spills on them or if I end up going to a soccer game and the jeans get splattered with mud, I''ll wash them.

For shirts/sweaters, I wear them 2X before washing. I''m really paranoid about my clothes pilling/fading, so I go as long as I can before washing them.

Bras - I have no idea. Whenever I do a load of delicates, I just stick all the ones I have laying around the house in the machine. I have a bad habit of taking them off at night and leaving them any old place that is convinient. One time one of my son''s friends (a girl, luckily) pointed out a bra I had sitting on our dining room table. lol ooops!

My husband washes EVERYTHING after every wear and all of his clothes do not hold up very long. Also, I want to mention, I air dry my jeans. I''d NEVER put my $158 pair of sevens in the dryer.

I was just looking at the tag of a pair of Lucky jeans I bought and discovered the tag is dated 2004. Yes, they''ve lasted almost 6 years!!!

I used to wash my jeans after every wear, but I realized my jeans were fading out so quickly with the washing and drying. Since jeans are sooo expensive (paige, Rock and Republic), I don''t want to replace them too often. Now I wash when needed.

I only wear my jeans for a few hours a day when I''m out of the house. The rest of the time, I''m wearing yoga pants when home. I guess I wash mine every week or two, but I also don''t wear the same pair every day, so I guess they get washed pretty often for the amount of hours I wear them. I like them to have that clean crisp blue denim look to them.

It also depends on the jeans. My new Gap jeans are much thinner denim that my older favoirte jeans and the thin denim ones have to be washed after each wearing to restore the fit. I find that very annoying. I hate when they bag.

I buy expensive jeans that I do not machine dry (so that laundry cycle takes 24 hours) so I wear them twice before laundering again....it really depends how much they stretch out. If the bum and thighs are too stretched then I wear them just once.

Denim is my real passion....

I am a water conservationist.

I wash them when I tired of seeing them balled up on the floor. But when I am in a clean and tidy cycle...I wear twice before I wash them. My expensive jeans don''t go into the dryer, but the worn out cheap ones do....and I too hate the stretching out...

However, during weight gain cycles, that stretch factor comes in mighty handy..like now.

Ditto on air drying...I NEVER tumble dry jeans.

That's part of the reason why I put off washing them...too lazy to hang them all up to dry.
