Engaged in 1978 with a 1.15ct Pear with side baguettes in WG
married 1979 5 stone wg band
1982 changed to same setting but YG who knows why. WB changed too into bezel 5 stone, ooh I like bezels
1986 5 stone 30th birthday band
1993 reset because I had an accident with a pretty bad head injury and the blood actually turned my ring weird colors. Reset it to a two tone setting added 2 round bezels side stones and baguettes
2009 e ring stolen
2011 found a replacement pear at GOG
2012 Starting to work with Brian Gavin on my forever setting. Gypsy nudged me towards the Josette and we are working on something along those lines.
My wedding band was reset once, to match the wg/yg switch and then in
2010 my 5 stone s prong was reset by BGD into a rose gold 5 stone trellis!
2 resets and soon a whole new ring!
I am not ruling out an AVC 5 stone band as 35 anniversary gift in 2014!!! DH better start saving
Engaged in 2010 after 8 years of dating, and no upgrades/resets. Wouldn't say no to a reset, because I'm not thrilled with the setting, but I love my stone.
Engaged 1979 with the ugliest ring on the planet. Lopsided setting, crappy melee diamonds, every single one a fish-eye stone. I picked
it because it was the cheapest one we could find. We had announced our engagement without a ring, and it ended up being several months before we got a ring. I really didn't even care, but DH had said he wanted to get a ring so I told all my friends. So I was asked about it continually. It was .25 center stone, and we paid $250.
Married July 1980-
1985- told my DH how much I hated the ring and why. After his initial response of 'you should be grateful', when I explained he felt so
bad, he was dragging me to jewelry store. We bought a .75 ring at Zales and sold the first ring to them for $900. Solitaire, that we went
downtown L.A. and bought a ring guard with rubies. Wore that ring for about 23 years.
Ugraded to 1.70 in 2008 (I think) Had that in a lovely W-prong, from Brian during his Whiteflash days. I still love that setting. Sold it for scrap.
Upgraded one last time to 2.57 in 2009, and had Leon Mege make me a setting in 2010. Took me a whole year to decide what I wanted to do for a setting. Last one. Prices have gone up so much, I don't think I will upgrade any more. The size is really good but I would like a little finger lipo. That is cheaper than buying a larger diamond.
