How many % of the money did you spent on the setting vs the center stone?

20%? 30%? 40%? 50/50? . My guess 30% would be norm on a $10k ring?. I'm sure it would be < % if you are sporting a $50k+ diamond.

130%ish My setting cost me than my diamond .I was determined to get a platinum wedding wedding ring, so got a ering in platinum to match. The diamond was an afterthought :p

For my first redo (reset of the original ER 2.93 GIA GVS MRB stone) we spent on the reset 10% of what the diamond cost. Way too much. It was a custom job, super expensive and super terrible. Live and learn that became my motto after that expensive lesson.:(2

Then when I got my first OEC Adam gave me the setting it came in so that setting cost me 0%.

With Bubbalah again 0% since the setting is being lent to me by the very gracious and lovely vendor. So the percent of the setting to diamond has yet to be determined since the final setting is yet to be determined.

If I had X budget I would spend X on the stone if I had to in order to get my dream stone and save money towards the setting for a future date. IOW I would get the best possible dream diamond I could and let the setting wait. If I didn't have enough money to get exactly what I wanted at the time.
 
My setting was about 2.4% of the total cost of my e-ring upgrade. My original e-ring had a very intricate (and thus costly) setting, so when it came time to upgrade I wanted something very simple so the focus was on the diamond (and bands for stacking :D).

My Jubilee in platinum Tacori wedding set was a 50-50 split costwise but that includes the w-band. With my AVR, the soli setting was 20% of the total not including the bands I wear with it, and the Opulence oval was 13% of the total. No band yet for that one.

Mine was just the opposite. I picked out the stone and told the jeweler I wanted a plat setting with two baguettes. I paid no attention to the cost or design or even the proportions. My jeweler was fabulous and it was just right. Same with wedding band-it is plat and the same width as my ER.

I got you beat.:P2 mine cost < 1%. I'm not gonna spent $5k on a PT tension setting since I may upgrade the size in the future. I'm too cheap when it comes to settings. I'd prefer to put the extra $$$ into the stone.

Gosh @Dancing Fire , I had to look them up.
My 3.01 F-SI1 pear with .70ctw F-G/VS semi-mount was 3%, but technically zero because I reused it when I traded the 2.05 D-VS2 oval in.

HPD Symphonie 6%
HPD Trilogie 5%
HPD Queen Pari 27% - inexpensive diamond, fancy setting :lol-2:

Currently 8%.
Prior iteration was 40%... Never thought of it this way, oh my goodness :eek-2:

About 10% to reset my EC RHR back in early 2015, from a simple bezel solitaire that was not to my liking (too high, shank too thin at the top), to its forever home with an air line diamond halo.
With hindsight, perhaps I should have spent more to get a more substantial shank as I am quite heavy with my hands, and the shank has bowed slightly.
However it was what I could afford at the time, and I got what I paid for.

Hummm, I'm surprised that many of the gals here spent < 10% on their setting. It seems like there are so many fancy PT/diamond settings posted on SMTB threads.
