Why would anyone pay for news?
 
if i could afford to i wouod subscribe to the telegraph from the UK, the New York Times and the New Yorker magazine
i would also subscribe to my home town newspaper on line The Otago Daily times
these publications all have great stuff that is behind paywalls and i trust there publications over the free media i have acess too

I have a digital subscription for The Times and Sunday Times newspapers in UK.

Also signed up for BBC News n my phone, however that is free.

My DH has a digital subscription to 2 news sources. I have zero paid subscriptions to new sources.
 
We pay for one news source, our local newspaper, since dh still likes the paper format.
 
NYTimes and WaPo nationally, locally the Austin Statesman paper.
