Help! I'm in a PANIC!

Hello. I was wondering if some of you experts could help me out.

I sent my engagement ring (including my original diamond) to a PS vendor and they received in on Feb. 18 (almost two weeks ago). They had the new diamond that I'm purchasing in house. The new diamond has still not been set, and even though this vendor has very good customer service ratings on PS, I feel like I'm getting blown off when I contact them and can't get them to give me a timeline of when my engagement ring (and new and old diamonds) will be ready and sent back to me. When we bought the original diamond, it was set that day, so I'm not understanding why it's taking so long.

The vendor did let me know last week that the new diamond was sent to the lab and isn't back yet, but I feel as though I should have been told that before I sent my engagement ring hundreds of miles away. This was supposed to be a good and exciting purchase, and it's just causing me stress and anxiety. Am I over reacting?

Thank you all for reading!

You have expressed WHEN I CONTACT THEM...but you didn''t say what medium. Use the phone.

Call them. Tell them what you told us.

Tell them you are balled up in stress of NOT KNOWING. I assure you they will work to alleviate your stress by finding a answer to your question. Only THEY know the intricate details of your setting and instructions. The board''s suggestions would only apply if they had the same setting.

When you call, if the person who takes your call doesn''t get you the right answer. Ask to speak to someone else, until you get to the person who can find you the answer. This is a business transaction, treat it like it is.

Now go...CALL THEM!

Are you upgrading/trading up or having your original and new diamonds set?

Regardless, as recommended *call them*. Just my personal view: when conducting business with a vendor, a customer should call by phone rather rely entirely on email. Seems like communication and misunderstandings are much less likely to occur. Possibly write up a list of questions and then call.
