Back in February I took Clomid because DH and I are TTC. Little did I know that I'm in that small percentile of people who are accutely sensitive to the medicine. So I wound up with overstimulated (enlarged) ovaries and ovarian cysts. The ovaries went back to normal size in a month or so but, five months later, I still have the cysts. Though the cysts have gone down considerably in size, the process has been three-steps-forward-one-step-back (big pain decrease followed by a pain increase, big pain decrease then a pain increase, etc.) My GYN doesn't want to operate since she says the cysts will "invelude" on their own and surgery would/could cause scarring.

Have any of you experienced cysts as a result of Clomid? If so, how long did it take for your cysts to go away completely?

I have never been on clomid but have had dozens and dozens of ovarian cysts. Not sure how long they last b/c I usually don't know I have one until they erupt. When I had my 6 week u/s I had a very large one (same size as my uterus at the time) and it was gone by my 20 week u/s. That one did not erupt (thankfully!) and I probably wouldn't have known I would have had one had I not had an u/s. My doc said it looked like it had been there for awhile and was reassured it would not hurt the baby in any way. HTH!

I had an ovarian cyst after a cycle of follistim- the cyst lasted about a month- by the beginning of my next cycle it was gone. I have heard of using birth control pills to help them shrink. I have no experience with that though.
