She is just envious of you. You got engaged and she is not even close.Date: 4/26/2009 1:39:59 PM

... Honestly ... a few hours after we got engaged.
Don''t get me wrong.. I LOVE MY DIAMOND AND RING. LOVE.
A few hours after we got engaged a rather snotty ''friend'' commented on how it was small and she thought my ring, ''would''ve been bigger''. I was really sad. I did get a diamond that was smaller than what we had wanted, but we got a good deal and with everything that happened (last year when he bought it) it was perfect. Now, I''m like.. ''Well, I could trade it or keep it as a pendant..''
Fiance is pissed at that ''friend''. He says I could compare my ring to her non-exsistant one. Also that since she''ll never get a diamond, she doesn''t have a clue how much they cost and I shouldn''t feel bad.
But I do. I feel bad. I''m just really sensitive and I wonder more why she would say such a thing just hours after I got engaged... and not even think twice about how rude her comment was.
Will we actually upgrade my diamond this year? ah no. We are saving for the wedding. Within 5 years? I''d like to, but in the realm of things- it''s ok if we don''t as well....
*sigh* I''m trying to distance myself from that ''friend'' now too. She is really rude about everything towards me and cuts me down every chance she gets.
Oh my God, we are in the same exact situation. I cannot believe it.Date: 4/26/2009 5:14:43 PM

IMMEDIATELY... because he said to me when he proposed that it was a promise ring to stand in until we could afford the ring I deserve!

Immediately... (don''t tell my DH). I have a .52 ideal round brilliant. As soon as I saw it I was a little disappointed. Even more so when we went to have dinner after he proposed and the waitress said congratulations - and stuck her 1.5 ct in my face and talked about her ring.![]()
I wanted a bigger diamond long before I found PS, but I''m glad I found this place as the quality of the diamonds for the price far surpasses what I can find around here. I sold some collectables online and used the money to buy an ACA. I intend to upgrade when finances permit. But I''ll never trade my original e-ring, the one my husband worked so hard to afford. It will always be special to me!
