How labor intensive is setting an eternity band?

Hi Everyone,

Any expert advice would be greatly appreciated. I recently acquired (via ebay) an channel set asscher eternity band with beautiful VVS F-G stones (probably about 1.5mm???). The ring is 2mm wide. The ring is circe 1930, so the chanel is pretty worn-down, leaving me in danger of losing stones. Would it be possible to reset the stones in an channel mount made for princess cuts (since those are probably easier to find with my size stones?). How much labor is involved in melting down a ring (18kt gold) and resetting the stones in an existing mount? Or would it be easier to somehow reinforce the chanel?

I can''t answer any of your questions but I just wanted to say how beautiful the asscher band is! I see all these wonderful ebay finds and think Wow! Why can''t I find anything like that?! Well done!
