I'm in the process of trying to find a stone for an engagement ring and I'm driving myself insane trying to make a decision based on cost and the 4 x 'c's. I've been trolling the forums here and you have great advice and feedback. I was hoping to get some feedback on this stone. It's EGL-USA certified so I'm a little paranoid. It's at uniondiamonds.com. Thanks.

I would be very hesitant about a EGL certed diamond. However, it is EGL-USA so it''s likely to be graded more accurately than other branches of EGL.

You are going to pay a premium for colourless stones so you want to make sure it really is. Get an independant appraisal just in case in turns out to be two colour grades and 2 clarity grades off (which has happened).

Have you got an IS image? I am still a bit nervous about this one, it seems a bit cheap too. Can you link us to the page?

Thanks, I'm kind of thinking the same thing but if it is only off one color grade maybe it's still not a bad deal?? Here is a link to it and you can pull up the grading report. http://www.uniondiamond.com/diamonds/diamonds.php?search_type_id=3&action_type_id=2&item_id=AA727506. Thanks for your help.

The other one I'm looking at is this one: http://www.abazias.com/database/NewDiamondInfo.asp?stock=45689743. Here are the specs. It is GIA certified. The only thing that I'm not sure about is that it has a strong blue flourescence. Is that noticeable if you aren't standing under a black light?
