How is this cushion cut diamond

I'm new to this and far from an expert, but if you like the "crushed ice" look then this seems like a pretty good deal to me. H color is "near colorless", so I'm not sure why they called it a brown diamond? Definitely need to find out what they mean by that, but the picture doesn't look brown.

Most diamonds, as they move down the color scale from d-z pick up traces of yellow. Some pick up other colors such as brown rather than yellow. That's probably what the vendor meant when they referred to it as a brown diamond. In an H color the difference in appearance will be relatively subtle but it will be visible to the trained eye and perhaps to some less trained eyes. To judge whether you like the brownish tinge or not you would have to see it and judge for yourself.

Brown is not a shade you typically want. And I think we can find a stone with different faceting for you, that will give you more predictable performance.

What is your budget and what do you want for it?

Actually, brown can be extremely desirable to some.
As Stan mentioned, most diamonds are slightly tinted yellow as we go down the scale.
Sometimes if an H or I colored stone has a brown tint, as opposed to the yellow it can be less obvious to many observers.
Then as we go a bit further down the scale, the J-K-L stones with brown can be AMAZING- even showing some pink on rare cases.

I would like to stay under the 5500 dollar range. Thanks

Okay so let me re-state.
Brown tint in an H color graded stone is not considered desirable by the majority of the trade, which is why stones with brown tint are usually discounted.

However some people like them. BUT since the poster is buying sight unseen from an internet dealer, for another person, it is better to err on the conservative side and not go for a stone with brown tint, in the case it IS visible to the wearer and they object to it.

I think I like this one the best as I would like it to be more rectangular than square.

Are there any others with a larger dimensions that look larger than their ct weight, maybe something that looks like a 1.30?

What are your thoughts on these?
