Slight leakage under the table, so not the best but better than most.

Thanks for the reply Stone,

Would I be better off lowering size to try to find a better stone?

Im looking in the $2k or slightly lower range.

From JA (virtual inventory) they had 2 that met my criteria, I chose to request the ASET for the one that looked better stat wise.

Thanks again

ASET
One small point.

GIA does not assign cut grades to Princess cut diamonds. Of the top tier labs, only AGS does, and they would not issue the Ideal cut grade to this stone as it has less than ideal Polish and Symmetry. (The top grade that GIA assigns to Polish and Symmetry is Excellent which may or may not be equivilent to Ideal from AGS depending on the stone, but since this diamond received less than excellent from GIA we know it would not receive Ideal from AGS for either Polish or Symmetry, and thus could not be graded Ideal by AGS.)

Wink

Edited to add: This looks like a very beautiful diamond, I just object to the use of the term Ideal when the Lab used for the grading report does not issue such a grade and there are not generally accepted parameters for the grade by any of the top tier labs except AGS who did not grade this diamond.

Thanks Wink and Stone.

Wink: I agree with your thinking, thanks for bringing that up. I had been looking at AGS rated and GIA the AGS ASET images I want to print and hang at work...its like artwork with the colors :) . I was generally leaning toward AGS since they seem to be some very nicely cut stones; but they originally seemed to have priced me out. The GIA stone that Stone linked is very very tempting. I might contact on that one.

Stone: I looked at that stone last night I think. That is one hell of a good looking stone. Thanks a lot for bringing it up! I can manage around 4k total so 1500 for the setting leaves 2500 for the stone.

Now to see if GOG will set it in the settings from JA, which will help sway me.

Thanks again everyone. More opinions are welcome. Hopefully i can pull the trigger in the next few days! :)

Good luck. :)

Is it generally preferred to send the stone to the jeweler with the setting; or the setting to the jeweler with the stone?

I have a hard choice over the GOG and JA stones. The ASET images seem to display a bit different colors (oranges vs reds).

Thanks again everyone...just a bit nervous making the final purchase. I want to make sure I make the right choices with stones.
