Singapore.

it could be a very nice stone.

my problem with it is the 7.60x7.46. That''s a bit out of round. See if it''s noticeable to the eye.

How''s the pricing?

Online prices are from 16K to 19K.

Hi JulieN thank you so much for replying. Well since you mentioned about the roundness, I didnt seem to notice it, but it might boil down to me not being too observant to begin with. Pricing in singapore is about SGD $30,000. Not too sure if the specs of the stone correlates to the price tag that comes with it. To be frank, all I looked for in a stone is its brilliance and I sorta chose this one because it was the most sparkly to the naked eye in normal sunlight lighting. (I didnt see it from a jewelery store, its from an independent diamond trader and she showed me the stone under normal everyday lighting)You guys think its worth the 30 grand Singapore Dollars based on the specs above?

Pls advice.

30K Singapore dollars is about 19K USD.

Out of roundness is one way that cutters can try to acheive a magic number. As long as it looks round, it's ok.

You can bring down the price by going down in clarity or looking for stones in the 1.4 range.

Other than those things, congrats on picking a nice stone!

What about the other PS user opinions? Is it worth a buy at that sort of price with the specs listed above or that the person is ripping me off.

One of the jewlers taht I went to enquire about the setting, he mentioned that he needed to take the stone away for about a month (duration of setting and making the ring). And he asked me for the value of the stone, and he said its for insurance purposes. Is it normal for the jeweler to take the stone away from you for a month or are they suppose to get the ring ready and set the stone in front of you? pls help. thank you very much!

i would prefer a taller crown like 15-15.5%.

Thanks for replying dancing fire. What difference it is when the crown height''s at 15%? Apologise for such a dumb question but I''m alien to these terms to begin with. Haha. Thanks for putting up with me.

If you want a really top cut stone I would pass on this one. It is WAY out of round, the crown and pavillion angles might work well together but in all it is not a diamond I would pick. The polish and symmetry is only vg - best to get EX EX or ID ID. The clarity is also very high unless that is what you want. This diamond might be pretty, but it is not a tightly cut diamond and there are better out there. However... if you have seen it and love it then that's all that matters, but I truly think you can do better. I think it is a case of having a pretty diamond knowing the cut could be better - that out of round would really bother me - or getting one with tighter specs.

Ditto!...this stone doesn't seem like a 'bargain' at the price you posted...and there are certainly better looking stones out there...maybe not at this jeweler..but I wouldn't just settle because it was the best looking one in the store. How many other places have you looked at? I'd continue to do some research and check around and if it's still the one that looks the best to you after visiting other places with well-cut stones, then get it! This could be a nice stone from the specs, but the out of roundness, the table/depth/angle combos, and the VG vs EX/ID is not my own personal cup of tea and for what you are paying, I'd really make it count!! Good luck and let us know what you find!

Thank you all for your kind input, really have helped me a great deal. I always thought that as long as I look at a diamond in normal everyday lighting and it looks good, that should be it. (I never really believed in Ideal scope honestly, because I never knew what to look out for in the first place, heh.) So for a 1.5 Round brilliant stone, what are the factors, dimensions and angles taht I should look out for in order to know that it is a top grade stone? Pls advice, so next time when i look at a cert, i would know what to look out for. Thank you all once again for giving me your valuable advices, most appreciated.

a taller crown with a smaller table usually brings more fire.

Ok, I will try to make this as easy as possible for you so you can see what to looks for.

Look at this diamond..

Diameter measurements.

This diamond has cherry proportions and is cut to great accuracy. It doesn't have to be a branded cut to be beautiful such as this example of A Cut Above Hearts and Arrows, but if you note the proportions of this diamond this will help you to know what to look for when comparing.
