So FF and I have picked out the setting for my e-ring and now we''re on the hunt for a gorgeous cushion cut diamond. I''ve been looking at ones between 1.2-1.5 ct and during my search I stumbled upon steindiamonds.com and they appear to have really great prices. Has anyone used them or know anything about them? Thanks!

This link to their BBB rating was provided in a previous thread about them:

I would contact Jonathan at Good Old Gold or Mark at Engagement Rings Direct for cushions. They both pick excellent ones.

Doesn't rate. I ditto DS's advice about contacting Mark or GOG. Both great vendors with wonderful reputations.

May I ask why it doesn''t rate? I''m definitely not as knowledgeable as many of you on here, but they seem to have nice quality stones for reasonable prices. We have about a $4000 limit for my stone and I would like to get the largest I can within our budget without sacrificing color and clarity. Perhaps I haven''t looked enough, but when I''ve done some searching on ERD and GOG as well as used the handy dandy PS diamond search, I wasn''t seeing many stones that appealed to me. My ring size is a 7 and I''d like to have as much finger coverage as I can get.

If you don''t see stones on the search that you like, best move is to actually phone/email Jon or Mark and tell them what you''re after. Thats why they do rate, as they will listen to what you want and help you find the best diamond for your budget.

So... I haven''t actually gotten a clear answer to my question and I would really appreciate one!

If anyone could help me out that would be great! Thanks

They have a very poor BBB rating. That should speak for itself.

And that would be...?

As I said above, I''m certainly not an expert and I''m looking for a tangible reason why I should NOT buy from them when they appear to have a nice selection of quality GIA stones at great prices.

I think since this thread has been open for days and there are only a few responses should tell you that either Stein Diamonds is an unknown here or unfavored. There are many ''regular'' vendors here that we know and trust. Why not use a recommended vendor instead of one nobody knows a whole lot about. I''ve certainly not seen any glowing references of this vendor like I have for other vendors. And for what it''s worth, you seem to be giving off a combative vibe in your posts. I''m not sure if it''s intentional or not, but, I thought I''d mention it. The bottom line is that if you really want to buy from Stein go ahead and do it. If you are looking for info on Stein, I''m just not sure you are going to get much of that. Good luck.
