I''m younger, but I have to work to be fit. At the same time, I feel better when I do that work, it makes me feel better physically and mentally. I enjoy the fact that I am a very well rounded person. I ride horses, and exercise, I like to read, do photography, and go out and enjoy life. Life is far to short to spend it begrudging others who look ''perfect'' and being down on one''s self. Besides, to me, the definition of perfect is skewed. In the Midieval ages, the perfect woman had lots of curves and wide wide hips, more for child bearing. Marilyn Monroe was a size 10-12. and Dammit Liv Tyler is beautiful. So why worry so much? I enjoy myself for what I am every day.
I heard 14! I wonder if the sizes are even the same from back then?

Not with vanity sizing. I bet she was a 6-8 to today''s standards.

I saw a documetary about this... she was a size 16 in their day at her largest (e.g., in some like it hot) and that is a size 12 today. At her smallest she was probably a 6-8 in todays sizing.

dreamer - thanks for the clarification.

I guess my main point was to point out that classic role model women weren''t necessarily a size 2. I''d like to think we can bring these types back to the forefront. We seem to be doing a decent job, Queen Latifah, Catherine Zita Jones, Liv Tyler, these are all great examples.... Rachel Ray (crinnnnggeee), sorry the girl gets to me, even though she''s a great role model for some, Just don''t like the whole 30 min meal thing.

Add me to the shorty list! 5'1 - thin, yet curvy! I was giving thought to what a couple ladies commented on about being offended when people comment on how short/tall they are....I did used to feel this way, but somewhere over time, I have come to love myself and all my flaws. My height (or lack thereof) just makes me who I am and I've become proud of that. I enjoy looking up at the world. I walk small and carry a big stick, so it all evens out.
