When you are stressed out how do you relax? Generally I feel like I am pretty good about this, but I feel stressed lately. So any new techniques would be great! :) Usually I look at wedding magazines, play WoW, and get on PS! So what about you?

Deep breathing

bubble bath

Reading a book

Going for a walk outside and taking in the scenary

Writing down things I am grateful for in my life

Imagining a blue ocean and blue sky (your favorite scenary)

Watching a good movie or favorite tv show

Relaxing on my outdoor swing

Listening to music

Reminding myself things always work out

Workingout (cardio)

Skippy, may I relax with you? All of my favorite things...

plus sometimes (rarely now though!) I like to have quiet and do organizing...cleaning out closets or drawers etc...it is weirdly calming to me if I can do it without interruption. Odd, I know...

Ooh Skippy I forgot bubble baths I love those! Oh and sleep, sleep is good.

Hey, that is a good one; I feel like I accomplished something by organizing and it feels great!

Play mahjong solitaire online. It makes me forget everything else in order to get through each level of the puzzle to beat the clock. I also love to read. Listen to music set on very low volume. Have a jacuzzi bath.

Take Amber to the park or up the mountains.
Lie in bed with a magazine and a cup of tea.
Go on PS.
Get my hair washed and blow dried.

Take walks

Pray

Work on arts and crafts project

Watch a funny movie or favorite TV show

Have a cup of tea

Play with my cats

Yoga, playing my guitar, running. I also sometimes like to clean like DiamondFan. I get stressed A LOT, so I feel your pain Sarah! I really do think that physical activity helps the most. Good luck, I hope you find something that helps!

Full day at the spa..... pure bliss.

Read
Call my mom or sister
Take a walk
Clean (it helps me get out my nervous energy)

If I am really stressed and feel high anxiety I find that controlled breathing really helps me to calm myself down and feel normal.

Otherwise if I am just chilling I play sports, PS chat on MSN go shopping, have a bubble tea :D all these things tend to help me chill :D

I love to get a mani or hair treatment...

snuggle my 6 year old if he will sit still

play with my dog

take a walk where the scenery is nice...

HI:

I read a lot....listen to relaxation tapes...exercise....listen to music and sing (very badly

), oh and bubble baths are good.....

cheers--Sharon

Hmm...I need to get more active and let this stress out through physical activity.

Relaxing, what is that?

I like to flip through mags
Listen to my hypnosis cd's
Hiking
Paint my nails outside on a nice day.

Drink (kidding), actually, drinking tea I really like does relax me
Playing with my kitties
art, I do countless types
sex
I exercise mostly. It leaves me feeling great because it releases endorphines into the system. My favorite is to workout really hard and then take a nap. Finding exercise that works for you really helps; I know I feel better after Irish step dancing which I love, versus running, which I don''t.
I also find pestering my FI helps, after all, misery loves company!

Haha poor FI! Mine gets a bit frustrated and says please relax! Relax! Why do you get so stressed? And my response is typically..I don''t know haha.

Massage - and then I clear out the rest of my afternoon so I can drink water, watch a movie, and nap. Have take-out for dinner.

or a mani, pedi, or facial if I don''t have the time or money for the massage. I also used to tan when I was stressed in college - and my skin had a lovely golden glow all year long. I no longer tan because of the dangers of skin cancer (which are increased if you''re 15-30) and unfortunately, spray tans aren''t relaxing.

Spending the entire evening reading a book

Lighting candles, a fire, lowering the lights in the house

Food - eating at a really quiet, child-free restaurant

Looking at photos

Turning off the TV and listening to music instead

I enjoy many of the already mentioned activities: reading, looking through a magazine, and running, but one of my favs is...

spending an evening drinking wine, eating chocolate and watching my fav movies (even disney movies)!

Haha, obviously I''ll always be a kid at heart. There''s just something about that prince charming concept

Gotta love Cinderella! I mean I love them all, but Cinderella is my fave followed by Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, and then Little Mermaid, etc.

This is how I relax: I put on my bright pink mumu, climb into bed with a bowl of Edy''s cookies & cream ice cream, pull the covers up to my chin, and read a good novel
41.gif
Of course, I eventually fall asleep.

Have you tried yoga? I find it really helps me relax when I''m super-stressed.

Hmm, actually not really. I should try that, too.

Haha, Cinderella is one of my favorites! Right after Aladdin and Mulan! I''m Asian-American, so I feel like I relate the most to Mulan!!

i hope nobody minds this, but bedroom activities can help to alleviate stress.
also sports massage. I go to a local college where they work really hard on your body. you might get a few bruises but the effects of the massage are long lastin and it helps to disperse toxins in your body and they dont charge as much as some one in the private sector.

Sigh, I wish I could get a massage every week. I loooove massages.

If I''m super stressed, I tend to go to the Victoria & Albert Museum with a sketch book and spend a few hours in the Plaster Courts.

I find it really helpful to concentrate on something and drawing really pulls me in and makes me not think about whatever is whirling round in my head.

Don''t ask me why I always head for the Plaster Courts - I never normally go there...
33.gif

Hot bath with lots of bubbles and candles and a lovely large glass of pinot and a trashy mag - usually HEAT!!
Going to a gym class
Cleaning
Having a good cry - sometimes when i get really stressed i get myself so worked up I just cry at the smallest thing then i feel heaps better.
