lol... you're funny. My parents would probably kill me and disown me.

She's has gigantic.. eyes. Ha!

ahhhh i think maybe part of the dress is missing :errrr:

i can't decide if i am horrified or jealous......

I certainly hope she didn't wear that into a church. :o

Is this in the UK?

so refined!

they look like they're Russian. Sorry, correct me if I'm wrong.

Wow, might as well have walked down the aisle topless! Where would one purchase such an "interesting" gown?

If I remember right they were gypsy.

I am almost positive it is Moscow. My husband could not identify the place, though.
Here is how it looks to a Russianer: The groom is reasonably well-off, an upstart, and this wedding cost and arm and a leg. The dress is "beautiful" and no priest would out them out of the church. The groom absolutely loves the dress and is proud of his bride's "goods". She, likely, has no idea as to how she may look to a foreigner. She has lived with him for a while before getting married and is quite happy to "land" a rich guy.

According to mythology, Menelaos showed Helen of Sparta naked to Paris just to boast the beauty of his wife. Helen got offended and demanded Paris to take her away because she felt her womanhood was degraded. (At least she got offended...)

each to their own.......their money, their wedding. not for me to reason why or condemn.

I agree. However, I do feel like it's bordering on indecent exposure (though I'm not sure if they have such laws in other countries, or just the US). I've never been to a strip club, but from what I understand about the city I live in, they aren't allowed to show their
n!pples, so, unfortunately, that is what comes to mind when I looked at that dress.

I think it looks ridiculous and awful.

The dress looks painful and one wrong move and she'll poke out an eye.

I am not condemning her... I just think that the country's style and attitude to these things borders on sexploitation. Look, the guy is totally happy with the way she looks!
There is a term in Russian language..."telki" (meaning young cows). It is used for women...not really derogatory, just stating certain traits. There is a website. By all definitions, she is "telka" and dresses accordingly.
I do not feel bad about her dress...I feel sad about her mentality.

If you look closely it appears that the dress has slid down a bit, doesn't it. Like her boobs are too heavy and have forced it to almost fold over or something.

Still, very weird to this Midwesterner.

 Im sure thats what every man dreams of, all his relatives seeing his wifes boobs on their wedding day! Makes me think of that phrase "less is more".

I Googled the term, and this is what I came across:

Very, very interesting milk ads

certainly didn't see these types of pictures prior to russia's ascent into capitalism........

It's what I see on the pic too!

I think you are right April. There was a thread in BWW last year that went a little crazy in regards to who had the right to say what about the girl/wedding. There was some very interesting information provided about gypsys and this family in particular.

I am more interested in how she defeated gravity. How does the top of that dress hold that much weight "up"?

I believe this was just one of many pictures of "travelers" weddings in the UK. From what I have read, the success rate of these marriages is quite high.

I'm pretty sure you're right, SDL.

As for the second pic, that is NOT typical of Russian weddings. Russian brides don't normally dress like strippers.
