I feel like this pic makes the rounds every couple of years, and everybody does the shocked!face, and then it either devolves into body-snarking or some nasty commentary on women's sexuality (not, btw, saying this thread has gone there - just hoping it doesn't).
I mean, here's the thing: there are some wedding dresses out there that I think are totally fug. They're frumpy, they're dowdy, they're twee, they're cheap, they're stupidly expensive - whatever, we can run the gamut of offenses against taste. That said, few people would think to criticize those gowns, because what they represent is acceptable for brides ... not taking into account the societal demands women face the other 99% of the time, to be as sexy as possible. If some people take that message to the far extreme, it doesn't really surprise me. While I hope the bikini wedding doesn't catch on (I don't quuuuuuuuuuuite think I could pull it off for my renewal ceremony), I also think it's the society that sends the messages that needs to be coming in for criticism, and not the lone young woman who's doing an admirable job of defying gravity, y'know?
How in the world did my wedding pictures get leaked to the internet???
Seriously, I was thinking maybe it was a costume party or something... maybe even Photoshop work. I kind of doubt it though. All I'll say is if real, this once again proves there are truly all kinds of people out there.
