... you did the right thing after giving kitty an incredible life...There are sooo many unwanted and abused pets out there ... it sounds like you are an amazing cat mom...

I just wanted to stop in and thank the most recent posters - I truly appreciate the support and guidance and it has definitely been helping me come to terms with what happened.

I hope that no one else has to go through this, however there are a lot of pet lovers/owners on PS, so I suspect others will experience this. Know that the support of the PS community is like no other.

Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart.

Hi OctoberBride,

I''m so terribly sorry about the loss of your dear Muffin. When I saw your post about her passing and how you spent the night next to her, I started to cry.

I wish I could think of something eloquent to write for you; something to make you feel better. But I can only think to offer my support and warm wishes.

love,
molly

Hi OctoberBride-
I know I am a few days late but I wanted to say how sorry I was about your loss. I am glad that you had so many years with your good friend/pet but I know it must be tremendously difficult.
I am glad you have gotten so much support here and that your friend/vet was so good withyou guys. Thinking of you.

I am also very sorry about your dear Muffin. It is so awesome that you were able to have her for 21 yrs. But so difficult to let go. These wonderful creatures give so much love and don''t ask for much in return.

"Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond gilt on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning''s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand by my grave and cry. I am not there.. I did not die."

Obride, I''m so sorry. I know how hard this must be, but I think you know how blessed you were to have her as long as you did. She''s at peace now.

And that picture of her sleeping is absolutely precious.

Oh honey, you did the right thing, but I know that doesn''t make it any easier right now.

You gave your sweet girl the best final gift you could though - a peaceful and dignified passing with the person she loved most in the world there with her.

Prayers and hugs to you in this time of grief.

I am late to this, but I am so sorry for your loss, it takes time...

October, I too am so sorry. You had a wonderful time with your cat and I know it hurts.

I am so sorry for your loss! But it sounds like you did the right thing. She had a wonderfully long life, I can only dream of such a long life for my pets, and she will always live in your memories! The picture of her sleeping is about the sweetest thing I have ever seen. Do you have any prints of her that are nicely framed? That might be a nice commemmoration of her life, when you are ready.
