How do you clean a gypsy set ring?

Is there a hole behind the gypsy/flush setting, or is it simply something you can''t clean under?
 
Mine have holes behind the stone so you can get back there.

Mine has a hole too.
 
Mine have a hole too. I just soak mine and lightly brush them with my baby toothbrush.
