Hello PS,

I am not a big jewelry person at all. The only diamond I had before this year was my engagement ring which was an heirloom from my DH's family. I searched for diamond studs as a gift from my DH for anniversary/birthday and made that purchase along with a DBTY necklace from BGD. I Love both those and with help from PS have since found an OMC that I purchased from Adam at OWD that is now with DK so he can set it into a pendant so I can layer it with my DBTY. I do love my new earrings but have also fallen in love with old cuts and their "personalities". I am already thinking my next project will be a mother's ring as my oldest goes to college this year. I have gone from 0-60 mph on my diamond interest. I look all the time, well a lot of the time. Does this happen often to people? How does anyone get anything else done?!

I was so laughing as I read this!!! ME TOO with the looking all the time!!

welcome to the hive you have been assimilated.

Lol! Karl!

There are plenty of addicts here...although we call ourselves diamond and jewelry enthusiasts as a more socially acceptable term.

Lilysweet, I am the same way! The only jewelry I had for 30+ years prior to last year was my tiny sapphire engagement ring. I now have a round brilliant vintage style ring, an old mine cut halo, an OEC solitaire, and a Cartier trinity rolling ring, among other pieces. I'm obsessed!

HC, it sounds like if I follow your example I will have to sedate my DH!

My name is Mayk and I'm a diamond jewelry addict. I'm a full fledged member of the club. :wavey:

My only question???

WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO STOP???

Wink

(Bwahahahahaaaaa! You WILL be adorned!)

Naty!!! :wavey: I have missed seeing you here!!!

Naty,
I wrote a very similar post when I joined PS, still thinking it might be curable. Nope.
You are doomed. Welcome to the well-lit, sparkly dark side!

You don't really stop but you do take periodic breaks where you feel like you have 'enough'. Then out of the blue you see something that 'hits' you and sparks your interest again and love of all things that sparkle and your sucked in again. It is not as desperate as that sounds, it's actually fun. Fighting it is like fighting a riptide.

acquire more  !

Jewellery is by far my biggest vice ever since my mum took me to have my ears pierced at the age of 10, and I am not going to change the habit of a lifetime.

DK :))

LOL Karl - now I am on the lookout for new avatars and screen names:

"Locutus_of_bling" would be cool 8-)

I can't believe you wrote this today, as I was thinking exactly the same thing today! UGH! I thought I was "done"...nope...stacking rings are my new passion...I need wardrobe of them and it can't be soon enough...then, on to the other hand...oh no, I will never be "frosted" enough to stop now! Just give in and enjoy!

I collect ( I guess I do) mini poave diamond pendants. I have like 20 of them and my DH keeps saying you have one neck. I have diamonds for each hand and bracelts. earrings jacketts.. yadda yadda and I can't stop. I keep saying whats the next project. It is crazy.

I wasn't either. I bought my wife an er a couple of years ago and found ps after the fact. Now I have loupes, a microscope, jewelry cleaners, etc... This is fun and now I need more money to buy more bling!

Thank Goodness you posted this. I'm 'guilty' of doing the same. Just before Christmas, I had my engagement ring upgraded. Unfortunately, I can't share any photos as my diamond is still at GIA getting recertified.
I'm now looking for perfect little .2 and .3 size stone of any shape to put together a diamond brooch. I'm also looking for stones as earring studs - 1ct each, a tennis bracelet, stacking rings and I wouldn't even mind an OEC AROUND 3ct .

Yeah.. I hear you.. I think we've opened up a Pandoras Box when it comes to stones.

Welcome to blingaholics anonymous :wavey: where this place is both a blessing for many (the wonderful advise given & great community) and a curse (diamond shrinkage syndrome and far far too much tempting eye candy)!!!!

Jewellery addict, reporting for duty. I pity the day my future SO tries to find the perfect ering for me.

Exactly this!

OP I could have written this myself. I never cared for jewelry at all, had a few mall store quality CS pieces received as gifts in my early marriage and wore a teeny tiny chip of an engagement ring without ever thinking twice about it. I considered spending on fine jewelry a waste of money that I just didn't get.

...and then I met PS. :))

Came here to research a new e-ring and haven't left. Got bitten by the CS bug and bought them left right and centre last year, decided I needed some pearls, and of course some more diamond pieces and to get some of those CS set! Now I just need a bigger bling fund!

Thanks to all who replied! All I can think is, PHEW! It is not just me!! So glad to have found such an entertaining "hobby" with great company!
