Hi I am ready to purchase a princess cut, but only limited information is available on the GIA report. I saw 8 dealers on the net selling this exact diamond so apparently they all share the same database. Any idea who may have sarin information on the diamond I am ready to buy. Would it be wrong to ask if I don''t end up buying it from them. Mondera, Whieflash and a bunh of otrhers list this stone.

Thanks alot

HI Mollerd! This info is listed in a Sarin report. WF should be able to provide you with one. Not sure about Mondera. There could be other sources for this information, I am just not sure. But maybe other more knowledgeable PSers can help with that!

ETA: I just carefully re-read your post. As far as getting the Sarin info, I am guessing that maybe the vendor would have this on hand if they had the diamond in house. I know from WF's website that I usually only see Sarin reports for the stones that WF has in house. You can always contact a particular vendor and ask whether they have the Sarin info available.

Hi - This vendor does not own the diamond and I can;t imagine he has it in-house. The last place I went to told me I need to pay over $100 for that information. It''s crazy, it''s like shopping for a car and not being allowed to see the sticker.

I would love to hae all the particulars but it seems like either I deal with an internet vendor or go to GOG. As I really love this stone, I may have to take my chances.

Thanks for your help!

Here''s a brief explanation of why several dealers are offering the same stone.

Whoever it is who owns the stone doesn''t want to provide their dealers with a Sarin and the dealers can''t get it without their cooperation. It may just be that they''re lazy, it may be that they''re stupid and it may be that they''re trying to hide something. Perhaps all of these things

. Unfortunately, the only way to really tell is for you or one of the dealers to order in the stone and get it examined by someone with the appropriate equipment. Most of the appraisers who are regulars here can do it for you as can most of those dealers. I would be a little surprised if anyone will do it for free but it wouldn''t hurt to check. The dealers in particular may be able to help you out on the possibility that you might buy the stone if it produces an acceptable report and if you cover the shipping. Ask ''em.
