How do I clean wool jute rug?

So we had a family get together last weekend and they pretty much wrecked our house. We''ve got most everything back together but someone ground their muddy shoes into our ivory, wool jute rug.

Any ideas on how I can get it out? I hear oxy cleaners and steam cleaners are a no no. I have the Bissell Little Green Machine which works wonders on everything else but I''m a little worried about using it on the wool rug.

The term jute is throwing me. Have you contacted any rug cleaning companies? Results may not be what you hoped, but it''s worth a try.

We have an antique Turkish? rug that is wool. The seller said to clean it, put it face down in clean snow...so far we have never tried that, but apparently that''s what they do.
