how do i break the news to my wife that i want to change my wedding band?

The wider band looks great! Glad you are keeping the old one too though. Your wife is right, she put it on your finger on your wedding day. You can''t just throw it away.
You know, I keep buying my hubby different bands, often for no particular reason (I went out shopping and found one I liked for example)-a titanium one, a WG one, a silver one with engraving and so on. He wears them on his left hand (not all of them at once! lol) but he keeps wearing the original one on his right hand (it''s an Eastern Orthodox thing, we wear our wedding bands on the right hand). So maybe you could sometimes wear the old band on your other hand? But I have to say I really like the wider band, congrats!

Just got the ring in the other day and have been too busy to pist a picture... Just took one on my crappy camera phone as i never seem to be in the mood to post pictures when I have my SLR around...

sure... why not... sometimes mani / pedi trips are the only hour my wife and i get to spend with each other on a given day.... busy busy...

Hubby upgraded his wedding band after 17 years. No problem with me. I was just happy he was willing to keep the same old wife. (Just kidding). We did have it engraved with the original wedding date. I''d encourage you to do that. I know a lot of guys who check their rings because they can''t remember their wedding anniversary.

HEY!Guys have hands,fingers, and nails too!When i was training guys in the jewelry stores i told them that bad looking hands detracted from the jewelry and manacures were a graet way to remsdy that.

I like the wider one on you. I think you might have big hands so it looks more proportional. My guy wanted a wide band too. I find it looks more like a stylish-band instead of a wedding band, but he''s happy with it. It''s 7mm flat band, so it''s pretty big too. Yours is more curved so it looks wonderful. (I love your wife''s set too)
