Greetings

Well, I have happened upon you folks at the end of this process, so we'll see what becomes of it. I just received (as in, today) the stone i bought from Brilliant Earth. I can't tell if it's buyer's remorse or if i'm not impressed....I was going to take it to a local and have it looked at.

Going in, my requirements were Princess, .7 - .9ct, F-H color, VS1 - SI1 clarity. Best cut possible. Must be certified from Canada.

Here's what I ended up with:

Canada Goose Natural Diamond
Princess Cut
0.76ct
Measurements: 4.87 x 4.81 x 3.74mm
SI-1 ('eye clean')
F Color
Cut "Very Good"

Depth: 77.8%

Crown: 47.6 degrees, 16.60%

Pavilion: 39.40 degrees, 57.40%

Table: 62.90%

Girdle: medium

Culet: none

price: $3030.00 (US)

The Grading report is by GemScan (says GS laboratories on the cert). Signed by a guy who say he's a "Graduate Gemologist - GIA"

Any comments? I'm beginning to wonder if I bought too soon. It does have a return policy for about a month. it is also in a setting where the diamond is pretty flush with the top, so is that impacting the light reflection? I'll try and take a pic if I can find my camera battery charger. A picture of the setting is attached (not mine, from their site)

thanks

matt
